This budget should make your blood boil. Let me show you why. Pakistan's interest payments this year: Rs. 8,054 billion. Pakistan's entire development budget, roads, dams, hospitals, schools, everything: Rs. 1,000 billion. Eight rupees go to debt service for every one rupee invested in this country. This is not a budget. This is a confession. Understand what this debt is. It was not borrowed to build Pakistan. Over the years, it was borrowed by corrupt politicians who were simultaneously busy building their own empires, inside and outside of Pakistan. Now you and I are paying interest on their corruption. Government will borrow another Rs. 7,000 billion on top of everything that already exists. Borrow to pay interest on previous borrowing. This is a debt trap and we are in it. And they took out full page newspaper adverts at your expense to celebrate it. Now let's look at Bangladesh. Same region. Same starting point. Very different choices. Bangladesh total budget: $76 billion. Pakistan: $60 billion. Bangladesh development spending: $24 billion. Pakistan: $3.6 billion. Bangladesh interest payments: $10.4 billion. Pakistan: $29 billion. Bangladesh education budget: $6.9 billion. Pakistan, federal and all four provinces combined: $3.5 billion. They have 83 million fewer people than us and still spend twice as much educating them. Bangladesh defence: $3.5 billion. Pakistan defence: $10.8 billion. We spend 3 times more on defence than Bangladesh and our interest bill is 8 times their entire defence budget. They are spending 6.5 times more on building their country than we are. And they are paying a third of what we pay in interest. Now look at what this has done to our people. Pakistan's GDP and Bangladesh's GDP are almost identical, around $450 billion each. But Pakistan has 83 million more people. Bangladesh's income/person: $2,621. Pakistan: $1,901. There taka is 122/dollar Our Rs is 278/dollar Poverty in Pakistan: 44.7%. Poverty in Bangladesh: 5.9%. Literacy in Pakistan: 60% (doubtful) Literacy in Bangladesh: 77% Once again our interest payments: Rs. 8,054 billion. Our defence budget: Rs. 3,000 billion. Interest payments are 2.7 times the defence budget. This is far more damning than anything else! I want to say something clearly. If this trajectory is not broken in the next two to three years, the security of this country will become unaffordable. This is not a political statement. This is basic maths. 1. The Economic Survey launched yesterday by the installed PMLn regime is basically a report card documenting the regimes failure over the past 5 years. Every sector has underperformed. 2. It proves that Pakistan is stuck with stagflation- high inflation + low economic growth. 3. The PMLn regime is squeezing provinces to generate surpluses to finance its runaway current expenditures and sky rocketing debt repayments. Shabbar Zaidi has laid out Pakistan’s debt crisis with precision. Let me add the timeline in plain numbers. August 2018: Imran Khan takes office, inherits Rs25 trillion in debt and a broken economy. Then Covid hit, a once in a century pandemic that brought every government on earth to its knees. Despite all of that, in 3.5 years Rs19 trillion was added to the debt, the borrowing rate was around 6%, and debt servicing was consuming 43 paisa of every revenue rupee. April 2022: We are removed. Total public debt stood at Rs 44 trillion. The incoming government inherited a stabilising economy, no pandemic, and an IMF programme already in place. June 2026: Four years later. Total public debt: Rs82 trillion. An addition of Rs38 trillion, double what we added, in the same time, without a pandemic. Policy rate is over 11%, ie nearly double what it was under us. As per the State Bank’s own report, 70 paisa of every rupee of tax revenue now goes to debt servicing alone. Before one school is built. Before one patient is treated. We inherited a crisis and managed it even through a pandemic. In just 4 years, PDM has doubled the debt at double the rate. Because this is not misfortune. This is the consequence of the worst form of governance by those who sit on a stolen mandate and have run this country into the ground while its people pay the price. Leaked document shows that the Pakistani military-backed government stopped polling results from coming out in Gilgit-Baltistan elections. Reports of massive rigging have poured in from the region.

1. Shahbaz Sharif' PMLn Form 47 regime is delaying presenting the Federal Budget because it cannot find its own resources to fill the black hole it has created with its own criminal fiscal mismanagement. A narrative has been spun that the Federal Government requires Rs 1000 billion for strategic projects. 2. The Federal Government can easily cut Rs 1000 billion from its own lavish expenditures to finance the deficit black hole. Its a matter of priorities. Cutting irrelevant costs is not a priority for Shahbaz Sharif's regime. They are fixated on the Mughal Era lavish expenditures on the backs of citizens. 3. The regime is now trying to rob the provinces from their development resources by forcing the provinces to slash their development expenditures. 4. Punjab will be reimbursed later on but the smaller provinces will be left in a lurch with minimal development spending. 5. People of the smaller provinces KPK, Sind and Balochistan will suffer. 6. 1. Massive pre poll and post poll rigging in the Gilgit Baltistan elections yesterday. It was not an election but a 'selection'. 2. The people of Gilgit Baltistan are with PM Imran Khan and PTI. They voted for PTI but bogus Form 47s have been issued. The election was stolen. The peoples voice silenced. 3. Had predicted it given the track record of the Form 47 PMLn regime and PPP (acting as its stepney). 4. Press Release Islamabad: June 07, 2026 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strongly condemns the worst-ever electoral rigging, blatant attempts to manipulate results, and the open use of state machinery in various constituencies of Gilgit-Baltistan. According to initial results and unofficial counts, PTI candidates were clearly leading until 7 PM. However, immediately afterwards, results from specific polling stations began to emerge with suspiciously high turnouts exceeding 80%, and individual ballot boxes yielding 700 to 800 votes , figures that raise serious doubts and suspicions. This constitutes a shameful stain on the entire electoral process and its transparency. Furthermore, polling agents of PTI are being denied Form 46, a clear violation of election laws that has further intensified fears of result manipulation. In areas including Nagar and others, evidence has emerged of individuals from opposing parties being caught red handed with fake ballot papers. Reports indicate that some elements were apprehended in the act as early as morning, providing irrefutable proof that this rigging is part of a well-planned and systematic conspiracy. PTI wishes to highlight that this rigging is not limited to polling day alone. The entire electoral exercise was made controversial even before polling through pre poll rigging. Voter lists were tampered with in specific constituencies, the same voters were added to multiple polling stations, police and administration were used to alter constituency delimitations and polling schemes, and opposition candidates and workers were systematically harassed and pressurized. All these actions prove that the Form 47 producing government has once again crossed every limit to steal the public mandate. PTI makes it clear that any attempt to manipulate the results will have serious consequences. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will employ every constitutional, legal, and democratic avenue to protect the votes of its supporters. PTI demands that authentic results from all polling stations be released immediately, Form 45 and Form 46 be provided to every candidate without delay, a swift inquiry be conducted into suspicious polling stations with strict action against those responsible, and the Election Commission fulfill its constitutional duty by ensuring complete transparency. If a hostile agency was to take down another country, here is what the agenda items would look like: 1. Centralize power structures under 1 individual, preferably a military general. 2. Rig elections and install a small pack of extractive elite that serves only self interest. 3. Suppress politics, activism, and media. 4. Inflict substantial economic pain on the people so they either leave or give up. 5. Overdose people on lies and delusions of greatness and global relevance. Once you are able to pull 1, which is the hardest part, rest 2,3,4 and 5 will follow organically.

Just four days before the budget, the government has imposed additional Rs24.74 per litre levy on petrol. Now new levy rate on petrol is Rs116 per litre. It offered Rs4 per litre olive branch to petrol consumers to make them happy. Actual reduction in petrol price in international market was Rs26.60 per litre. As against new price of Rs378, the petrol price should have been Rs353 per liter. As per commitment with IMF to charge Rs80 levy, petrol price should have been Rs342 per litre.

The Iranian navy, which has been destroyed eight times, has apparently closed the Strait of Hormuz again, because the United States, for the seventh time, won the war that wasn’t a war, so now the United States has to open the Strait of Hormuz that was already open before the not-war began. The not-war began because Iran had uranium that was totally, completely, beautifully obliterated, so they can’t build the nuclear bomb they weren’t building, which is why the United States had to start the not-war it definitely didn’t start. Now the United States, which has nuclear weapons, is threatening to use nuclear weapons to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons, because nuclear weapons are far too dangerous for countries with nuclear weapons to allow other countries to have. If the United States saw the United States doing what the United States does in other countries, the United States would invade the United States to liberate the United States from the tyranny of the United States.

We have been forwarded several news reports claiming that there has been a legal notice sent to us by someone claiming to represent the PPP in relation to our recent documentary on the party and its governance. Whilst we are not in receipt of any such notice, internet posts doing the rounds do appear to contain a legal notice where raftar and its CEO are named which claims amongst other things a quantum of damages. We had initially thought it to be no more than an attempt at gaining some publicity by the individuals spreading it; but as it does appear on a letterhead, we have instructed our lawyers to draft a response which we shall share with you all.

1/3 Pakistan did not find out about the Chenab-Beas Link Tunnel through a diplomatic leak or a tip. It found out through a public tender document the Government of India issued inviting bids to redirect 1.9 million acre-feet of water annually from the Chenab River into the Beas river system. Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi confirmed this on June 3. The Chenab is a western river. The 1960 Indus Waters Treaty gives Pakistan full rights to it. Diverting it into an eastern river system allocated entirely to India is a violation of the treaty, the Vienna Convention, and the 1997 UN Watercourses Convention.
