for anyone who wants a great intro to IDM outside of Boards of Canada, Aphex, Autechre - this article by @laurent_fintoni opened my eyes to America's contribution to glitchy electronic music. mentions of the scene that birthed Richard Devine, TTV, Machinedrum, Phoenecia, etc.
i would take the boards of canada discourse more seriously if music twitter also mentioned other idm artists. one million tweets about them and i never see any about bola, plaid, phoenicia, arovane, xela, jega, freeform, mira calix, richard devine, jetone, ilkae, syndrone, etc.
