Connor Murphy and the @EdmontonOilers have agreed to a new deal before free agency. In comparison to our projection, Murphy comes in a little high on AAV and blows the term out of the water. Real good contract for the 33 year old defensive d-man. #NHL

@TalkTonysTakes @Rtfreese @CapWages Smoke is that Bobrovsky is unlikely to return. Replace his $5.6M projection with a lower AAV (Andersen on a bonus heavy contract?) and they should be able to make it work without sending anyone out.
Guess not as McMann signs an extension just hours laters. We like the skillsets of both players a lot. McMann was one of our favorite UFA ideas. Would questions the roster building mentality though. Feels like a lot of repetitive skillsets in Seattle.
Wonder if this means pending UFA Bobby McMann is headed to the open market as Samoskevich would be a logical replacement.
Probably doesn't need to be said given his brother is a good fit but Brady Tkachuk should be a tremendous fit in Florida. Glaring weakness is speed and Florida is a team a little less reliant on speed and more playing a heavy forechecking game.
Although it quickly got overshadowed, Bobby McMann and @SeattleKraken agree on a 6 year, $5.75M AAV contract extension. A touch more AAV and 2 more years in term than projected. All in all a very fair deal for all involved.

With Dickinson foregoing UFA, the center market gets even thinner. Boone Jenner might be the biggest beneficiary. It's very likely our projection comes in low if Jenner prioritizes value over situation.
