I have a theory on feeling left out or falling behind.
It's easy to feel overwhelmed and feel confused when u see someone online doing great and you wanna be just like them but don't know where to start.
so you end up in a performative loop where you just do high level fancy things without learning anything from first principles or covering the basics.
which means you're just doing it for the sake of doing it or ticking the check boxes to satisfy your ego without adding any value.
"I've done this."
"I've built that."
in which the motive of impressing others is more.
you must realize they're maybe months or maybe a year ahead of you in terms of knowledge.
they've kept their heads down and built obsession over their work in this period of time. their skills and way of doing are honed not given by someone else overnight.
trying to follow the same path as theirs won't always work, asking advice too (coz they may give advice in their own POV and own circumstances but yours is different)
this can be better understood with this image, there are multiple paths leading to success, each one of em is different.
the ones who're in movement are the people we admire, the ones standing in the beginning are us.
now you've got two options,
Blindly follow someone else's path.
Or
FAFO.
Experiment. explore. stalk people's journeys. figure out what genuinely interests you. Identify what you're already good at, what excites you, and what kind of work you actually want to become great at.
every time you see their posts in your feed, your brain starts filling gaps that "They're doing all these incredible things while I'm still struggling with basic stuff."
it keeps ur brain in constant oscillation without letting you to focus on one thing.
FAFO is great because it helps you discover what works for you.
there are multiple ways ahead of you, multiple people reached the far end of their path not by following someone else.
only your way of doing things will be interesting for you.
this comparison will never end there are infinite people for you to compare yourself to, this will never end.
think each of us are better in their own way,
put all your power in advancing not comparing.
so just put your heads down, and think about your journey as if your walking in a dark forest with a torch light, as you move new paths get visible.
sometimes we're over complicating our lives by comparing ourselves to others, admire but don't get overwhelmed. do one thing at a time, be consistent enough, the person you admire is within reachable distance.
@kartikktwt Damn this is so true
When you look at people here theyvare crazy but the thing is there are 2-3 years ahead of you and are following interest not a roadmap
@samirande_ Hi bro i liked the idea and I even used it
I have one suggestion when we start a timer and if we are move to some other screen we don't know when it ends so try to add something like sound so we understand that the timer is over
Also are you thinking of making it into pomodoro
