@Mahendarbuilds @robj3d3 The orchestration layer is where it gets weird. Most surprising for me: Claude spawning subagents that hit the same file and clobbering each other's edits until I gave each one its own worktree. The capability is fun. The new failure modes are the real story.

@Daniel__Clayton IVY handling the gap between Obsidian vault and published cadence is the part most newsletter workflows miss. Ghost Admin API for scheduling, n8n as the bridge from vault to cron to publish. That's where the compounding time savings actually lives.

@elewachii Facebook groups are underrated for this. The move that works: skip pitching "AI automation," find the one repetitive task they keep complaining about (manual invoicing, lead follow-up) and rebuild it in n8n. Show before vs after. The pain sells the fix.

@andyguzik The /deep-research output is useful raw but the value compounds when you pipe it somewhere. Point it at a competitor's docs weekly via cron, push the structured output into Notion through MCP. Now the research runs on schedule instead of when you remember to ask.

@keyengtee @inistatehq That state machine is the hard part. Once it exists, connect the transitions to actual triggers via n8n: the issue lifecycle becomes a workflow backbone. Same pattern works with Jira, Linear, or any structured list that has a status field.

@AIDailyGems The failure mode I'd watch: any workflow where Claude Code makes writes to GitHub issues, Slack messages, or Notion pages. Proxying those for inspection is fine. Replay without isolation is the risk. One bad test run in dev that re-fires a production write is a bad day.

@domplaner That OS layer already has pieces. MCP covers tool connectivity. n8n handles process orchestration. The part most companies skip is structured memory for state. Building each layer in isolation is why it doesn't compose.

@benjiDev19 Chat mode is the lobby. The other 90%: API with tool use, Claude Code for file-level work, MCP servers connecting your apps, Haiku for high-volume pipelines where Sonnet would blow the budget. Most people never leave the lobby.

@LucaCaponeX @Jeremy___a Same stack, different operating mode. What shifted is how much of the in-between work you still own. Most people still hand-write every glue script. Connect Claude Code output into n8n or an MCP server and that part runs itself.

@nisar_dev Both beat Copilot for different reasons. Codex is better for long-running batch work: run it headless across a whole codebase and let it finish. Cursor's edit flow is faster when you're actively inside a file. Depends whether you're steering or watching.

@vladimir_vg n8n exposes most of these already: retry-on-fail per node, an Error Trigger workflow, queue mode for concurrency. The gap is they're per-node bolt-ons, not a flow-level guarantee. You still hand-stitch idempotency keys for exactly-once across a chain. That part, nobody's solved.

@agentic_joe Smart. Next step is automating the switch itself. Manually swapping when Claude Code hits a 429 means you're babysitting it. A thin router that catches the rate-limit and re-fires the same prompt at Codex or DeepSeek is the difference between installed and actually resilient.

@gaston_this_is Skip the clones, use git worktrees. git worktree add ../feat-x feat-x gives each feature its own folder and branch off one repo, so you can run a separate Cursor instance per worktree. On context: no, it won't survive a reopen. Pin the notes in a file Cursor reads on load.

@jelizor Genuine question on Layer 3: what does capability-bound execution buy you over short-lived OAuth scopes plus SPIFFE/SVID workload identity? Agent framing is new, the primitives feel borrowed. Where does the agent case break what services already run?

@samboboev That "spend up to X, in this category, under these conditions" layer already exists, just hand-rolled. Every production n8n flow ends in a human-approval node before anything irreversible fires. Making that glue a real card-rail protocol is the work, and Visa moving on it tracks.

@yashdotin Good map. There's a 13th layer though: state. "Agent called the GitHub API" is useless alone, you need the env hash, the before/after diff, and what else hit that endpoint in the same window. The rest tell you what ran. State tells you why it broke.

@medicmatt203 @adocomplete The 'gm brief' pattern is solid. Same thing works for PR diffs since your last session, Airtable rows added overnight, Slack threads that went unread. Claude Code with a CLAUDE.md that has context built in handles all of it.

@builtbykern @AuroraMar1eL For solo builders, Cursor for day-to-day editing + Claude Code for long-context work covers most of the stack. The 'completely changed' moment is usually tab completion on API integrations. Stops being a lookup task.

@dunik_7 The math works until you need the full context window on a complex codebase or the model quality gap matters. Ollama on M4 runs Qwen2.5 14B well. For greenfield projects that's fine. For a 200k-token n8n workflow audit? Less so.

@Shpigford @rosschapman The drain is real. A CLAUDE.md focused on the WHY behind each architecture decision cuts most of it. Claude stops asking for context every session. It's already there.
