Dev tools should reduce friction, not add complexity

A clean SVG is only one part of the job.
For developers, the real question is:
Will this icon work inside the app?
At 16px?
In a toolbar?
In dark mode?
As React, XAML, VectorDrawable or SwiftUI?
That is what makes an icon app-ready.
A clean SVG is not always an app-ready icon.
Before shipping it in a real product, you still need to check:
- canvas
- viewBox
- alignment
- small-size readability
- UI states
- export format
- consistency with the icon set
An icon is ready when it works inside the app.

AI-generated icons look great…
Until you open the SVG.
Then you find:
❌ messy paths
❌ bad viewBox
❌ inconsistent strokes
❌ poor alignment
❌ wrong export format
Generated ≠ production-ready.
That’s where icon cleanup matters.

@FloWritesCode Exciting step forward. For developers, Codex moving from writing code to using software opens up powerful new ways to build, test, and polish apps.
Your Windows app deserves better than random toolbar icons.
Office Pro is a developer-ready icon set built for ribbons, menus and dense desktop UIs:
SVG, XAML, PNG, ICO + pixel-perfect 16×16 / 32×32 grids.

@jboehmig@OpenAI@gdb@nickaturley@sherwinwu Exciting to see Codex moving so fast. Great tools make developers more productive , and help them ship better, more polished apps.
@Codex_Changelog Great direction. AI coding tools become much more useful when they understand real workflows, tech stacks, and team conventions.
That's exactly where developer tools can save time: less repetitive setup, faster iteration, and more consistent product polish.
SVG icons are not just design files.
They are production assets.
If your SVGs have broken viewBoxes, messy paths, unused groups, hardcoded colors, or poor small-size rendering, they can hurt your UI quality and developer workflow.
We just published a practical developer checklist:
"Stop Shipping Messy SVGs: A Developer Checklist for Production-Ready Icons"
Read the article:

A good-looking SVG can still be bad for production.
Too much canvas space.
Wrong alignment.
Off-grid shapes.
Inconsistent positioning.
IconVectors helps fix the details that make app icons feel polished.

@lgrammel Very relatable.
AI is powerful, but developer tools still need to feel predictable and under the user’s control. A clean editor, reliable diffs, and AI used where it actually helps feels like the right balance.
@thsottiaux Thanks for the transparency. As a developer tools company, we know how important stability is for daily workflows. Wishing the team a quick recovery.
Your app can have great features and still feel unfinished.
Why?
Often, it comes down to the details:
inconsistent icons, mixed styles, uneven sizing, unclear actions.
A coherent icon workflow helps developers ship cleaner, more polished interfaces.

One icon rarely ships as one icon.
Normal. Hover. Disabled. Active. Dark theme.
IconVectors helps create consistent SVG icon variants faster — so polished UI states don’t become manual work.

@moritzkremb AI is moving from demo velocity to trust velocity.
Developers don’t need a new button every two days. They need tools they can depend on every day.
@sama AI is accelerating how developers design, prototype, and build software. `We believe the next step is combining AI with specialized tools that help teams refine the visible details of their applications: icons, consistency, and interface polish.
@skirano This is the right evolution: design systems as portable context for any agent.
The more agents understand tokens, Tailwind, icons, and design.md guidance, the more AI-generated UI can stay truly on-brand.
