Passengers on the railways are at best only expected to reach 80% of pre covid levels in the next 10 years. If there are less passengers, what will @eastwestrail be used for? #dieseltrains #freight #AirPollution
@BedfordGreens Yet you support a new diesel train line through Bedford and the unspoilt North Bedford countryside, causing more #AirPollution and more #traffic in an already heavily congested part of town. Surely you see there's a better way?
On Thursday evening @brickhillparish voted to support northern village parishes in their opposition to a train line through Clapham, Brickhill, Ravensden and Wilden. The #Brickhill Community has been vocal in its opposition to @eastwestrail route E.

I didn't know Bedford town was set to become a national freight hub - hope it doesn't affect the Embankment.

Disappointing that local @TheGreenParty councillors @BedfordGreens are supporting a new diesel @ewrconsortium that will tear up the North Bedford countryside. They want it to run through @BedfordStation which will bring even more polluting cars into town. There's a better way!
The next meeting of @brickhillparish will be Thursday 4th March at 7.30pm. All, and in particular Brickhill residents can attend. If you wish to speak at the meeting email clerk@brickhillparishcouncil.gov.uk
@BedfordGreens @TheGreenParty @ewrconsortium @BedfordStation @eastwestrail have already said the route will not be electrified. The demand for the route to go through Bedford Midland will mean more cars and more congestion in town. Park & Ride, reduces cars in town, a parkway type station would do similar.
