@ramit I think it’s more that people just don’t really understand the benefit of compounding for a long period of time. 200k down payment yields almost 3.5m over a 30 year mortgage period! Just save some money over extremely long periods of time and it’s hard not to become wealthy.
@ramit I think the point is that this is a multi variable problem highly specific to each individual’s situation… hence the need to model it. BTW there is no reason you couldn’t decide to buy even if it WASN’T an optimal decision. Part of your rich life might be owning a home!

You will certainly keep more money if you do it yourself. But if you think you WON’T do it yourself you may be better off paying me”
@TreyHenninger I noticed this in my early investing. I was “value” oriented but noticed that some of the companies went on to perform well even after they were fully valued. Opened my eye to the importance of the business quality and endurance
