I sat on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial with a wise friend after attending Rescue the Republic in Sep 2024. We were looking at the Washington Monument in front of us and talking about how it is as a country we went from Washington to Lincoln: the magnificent birth of our country to the Civil War. He pointed out that someone built a pool between these monuments to reflect on this very idea. It seems no accident that the pool is the focus of all the ire. Actual reflection could lead to truth.

In the very recent past, the West made a strong argument for itself. If you immigrated, your family was won over within a generation.
