Can anyone at the @FTC explain how @Adobe is STILL allowed to violate the Click to Cancel regulation? You STILL have to contact support in order to cancel a CLEAR violation of the FTC's rule. #darkpatterns

@CJSlattery It doesn’t take a 10 person infosec team to draft those policies. I’ve done it as a one person infosec team for the last two startups that I’ve been with and helped close 7 figure deals as a result at both companies. You just need a tech leader that understands the space.

@joshtyler @firstshowing I’m not saying it excuses the way they went about it. But to just put your head in the sand and pretend that the classic UA was NOT a huge privacy risk to them is to ignore simple facts on the ground.

@joshtyler @firstshowing They destroyed the product because of the legal implications / risk around privacy from the EU. They couldn’t continue to have a massive FREE tool that put a target on their back with regulators. Note that the PAID version of GA is still running on V3 and not V4.

@joshtyler They made GA4 so completely unintuitive to use AND then made it so it will randomly limit your access to the full data about your site. That means it CANNOT be trusted as the source of truth for stats about your site. Once that egg is broken it can’t be put back together.

I don't understand why software co still offer alcohol as an incentive for a phone call. With 10% of adults being alcoholics, the people impacted by it & the declining rates of drinking in the younger gens it's got be less effective than offering something like Legos.

@TimMedin We experienced a similar phishing attempt that used @Dropbox links which instantly redirected you to a fake Google login to capture credentials. These sharing sites need to be doing more to monitor the malicious actors using their systems as vectors for attacks.
