To quickly determine where vegetation poses a wildfire risk near utility equipment, CPI uses aerial light detection and ranging photos to quickly see where crews can trim overgrowth and keep the power flowing.
Using electric-powered yard tools or running extension cords along wet grass or ground can cause electrical shock. Electrical tools should be at least 10 feet away from damp areas. Better yet, save your electrical outdoor work for when the ground is completely dry.

Stay safe during wildfires with these preparation basics: * Catalog belongings with up-to-date photos * Keep a photo of your insurance certificate on your phone * Choose fire-resistant doors, windows and building materials * Ensure smoke detectors are operational
Teach your kids about electrical safety while on a walk! Search for these potential hazards: a. Tree branches touching power lines. b. Padmount transformers c. Underground utility markers d. Extension cords If you see anything dangerous, call CPI at 541-929-3124.
Keep the air in your home clean. Dirty air filters and vents will circulate dust and allergens through your home. Vacuum dust off of vents and change air filters to maintain air quality, maximize the life of your HVAC system, and save on utility costs.
Create a defensible space! Clear live and dry plants, fallen branches, wood piles and flammable debris at least 30 feet around your home. Trim trees, mow grass short and remove anything that could fuel a wildfire. Learn more: vist.ly/53ij3
Charging your electric vehicle at home? Level 1 chargers do not require special equipment, only a dedicated circuit. Do not plug your EV into a circuit that supplies power to other appliances.
