I believe batching content is the wrong move in 2023. Now I’m a huge fan of batching content. I have a YT channel with 182k+ subs. I have partners with 330k+ and 400k+ followers. Plus I’ve worked with creators between 1M-6M followers. Batching content works… until it doesn’t. This Tweet is about to go deep. I love the idea of spending 1 day to create content for the next 7 days. This is my dream. I have ‘real’ stuff to do. So I’m always short on time. Batching saves time while allowing me to follow my ‘content schedule.’ I spend 5 hours over the weekend to write, edit, and schedule 30 Tweets. My routine is almost perfect doing this… But then I meet @jeffcastillo Jeff is my biz partner. He spent the last 10 years making people famous. He’s generated millions of followers for people. He recently made himself famous by going from 40k → 400k followers on IG in 6 weeks. The man is a 5D content creator. He sees things that nobody else does… So when Jeff tells me he DOESN’T batch his content... I’m surprised. But he doesn’t stop there… ‘Sam…’ he says while looking me dead in the eye… ‘You’re growing slow BECAUSE you batch your content... just like everybody else.’ Now I’m heated. I feel the fire flush into my face. My own partner is saying I’m wrong. I’m preparing to enter battle and fight for why batching content is the way to go… But then he says ONE thing… ‘When did we ever change our life by batching content?’ Then I start thinking… Jeff produces ONE video that gets 20 million views, 1 million likes, and 340,000 new followers in under 6 weeks. $100M CEOs and celebrities with 15M+ followers DM him because of it… I produce ONE video that gets 3 million views and 100,000 new subscribers in under 14 days. That one video generates $30,000 in revenue… I even write ONE Tweet that gets 2,000+ comments and takes me from 300 → 2,100 followers in 3 days. Plus I strike high-level partners because of this Tweet… That’s when I see the pattern: None of this content was batched. In fact… We created ONE piece of content that gave us 90% of our total results. That’s when it hits me – Jeff is 100% right. I’m a damn good writer. I can create and spot great content. But when I batch? I produce mediocre BS. I chase the productivity high of creating 30 Tweets in 5 hours. Because it ‘saves time.’ Which allows me to focus on the important stuff – right? Here’s the twist: Batching content doesn’t save time – it wastes time. I only think 7 days ahead when I batch content. Then I only give myself 5 hours to create my content for the week. But that content produces small, average, and mediocre results for me. Why? Because every day… 500 million Tweets are published… 34 million TikTok videos are posted… 95 million Instagram posts are created… 3.7 million YouTube videos are uploaded… But here I am… Thinking I’m going to ‘stand out’ in 5 hours a week… While only thinking about content 7 days ahead… Not a chance. There’s too much noise in 2023 to get away with this. The noise is only going to get worse. In fact... I’m ADDING to that noise with my subpar content. Batching puts us in a mindset that’s a race to the bottom. But the creators who WIN are racing to the top. How? They don’t create 100 pieces of content that ADDS to the noise… They create 1 piece of content that BREAKS THROUGH the noise. I call it Breakthrough Content. 1 piece of Breakthrough Content will create 1,000x more results than 100 pieces of average content. This is proven by the 80/20 principle. It’s especially true for social media growth. Jeff did it… I did it… Our biggest clients did it… But nobody else is going to do it... Why? Because it takes much more than 5 hours just to create one piece of content like this. Plus it requires you to plan for much longer than 7 days. Now you might be thinking I’m saying to ‘go viral.’ Yes, yes I am. People say ‘going viral’ is bad. I disagree. And that’s coming from someone who’s gone viral before. Going viral is a shortcut. Anybody who says otherwise has never gone viral before. Or if they have then they did it the wrong way… Going viral is not about clickbait. It’s about creating something thousands of people rave about. Here’s an example… Mr. Beast was interviewed by Joe Rogan in March 2022. Mr. Best said, ‘It’s easier to create ONE video with 5 million views… than 50 videos with 100k views each.’ He follows this religiously. He produces 1 video every 3.5 weeks... Now he’s the #1 creator on the planet. Let’s take Alex Hormozi… He produces 200+ pieces of content per week today. But it wasn’t always like. In fact, most of us had no clue about Hormozi until he created his Breakthrough Content: $100M Offers. That one piece of content catapulted his brand into stardom. This is the only way to break through the noise and stand out. And this route is available to YOU – starting right now… So if you truly want to be a creator… Then you can’t look at content as a low ROI task. You can’t spend only 5 hours a week creating. You can’t produce content just to hit a weekly quota. You must view content as a high ROI task. You must create every day to build the muscle. You must raise your standards for what you’re willing to produce. Doing this will do more for your life than the ‘batching mindset’ ever will. Now I love to lead by example… This Tweet you’re reading right now is my attempt at Breakthrough Content. Not the kind that reaches millions... But the kind that inspires even ONE person to do content differently. I used to spend 5 hours writing 30 Tweets. Now I spend 5 hours writing 1 Tweet. Like this Tweet. I wouldn’t tell you to do something I’m not doing myself. So here’s how I’m doing it: 1) Set aside 10 hours a month to create something epic. 2) Give myself 30 days to create it. 3) Do this at least 5 times before the year ends. The goal? Create 1 big that gets 1,000x more results than 100 smaller ideas. This is the only way to win in the attention economy. If you’re a Committed Creator… I believe this is your opportunity to change your life in 2023. This is the theory I’m going all-in on. Who wants to join me?
