I'm torn about this. On the one hand, I grew up on the internet. I probably wouldn't be who I am or where I am without it, whether or not that's a good thing is debatable. However, on the other hand, the internet is a vastly worse place to be these days... Hmm... That said, I'd rather see platforms be forced to take action with better parental controls and guidance rather than this... Forcing ID checks on a government level for this is a bit draconian...

This is where the DMA logic falls apart. You’re treating Apple’s privacy/security model as a market failure, when for many users it’s the point of the product. Forcing that open isn’t just “choice”, it changes what people chose in the first place, while also making it weaker from a privacy and security standpoint. You’re fundamentally misunderstanding what users want, while simultaneously misunderstanding what security is.

This is silly because, yes, of course it's Apple's decision - but that decision is based on not wanting to comply with the EU Commission's ludicrous requirements for DMA - which will actively put users in harms way. EU just missing the f**king point with technological issues, again...
