@breakingnewsie except he has apparently titled the book "Hobat" instead of "Hobbit". Happy to be corrected, but Hobbit was invented by the author J.R.R. Tolkien. So it seems that Proff. Watson, is not translating, but making stuff up.

@blindsideprop @afneil The knife in question was a "Cerbera knife", with 20cm blade. If you had bothered to look that up, you will see it is a standard "kitchen" implement, not "designed and sold as weapons", as you said. I have several similar to this in my "kitchen drawer".

@TimesRadio @PJTheEconomist if (like me) you are an agency worker, then employers national insurance is deducted from your day rate by an umbrella company, so it will directly impact the amount paid to me, but maybe agency workers are not seen a "working people"?

@JimHunter22 My father served in the army for 6 years in WWII, most of it as part of the so called "forgotten army" in Burma. I feel some quarms about the emphasis on one event. A "TV pundit" said yesterday that VE Day would be more appropriate, even though we were still at war with Japan.
