If you're the parent that gives the team Gamechanger person a hard time because of the way the game is being scored, grow up. There have been parents that have confronted the scorekeeper immediately after the play was scored because they thought their kid should've gotten a hit and not an error. If it bothers you so much just keep your own book. Our rule is if you complain you are automatically the Gamechanger person. And for all the parents that say, "This matters because the college coaches are going to see this!" I'm sorry, but no, no they aren't....

Coaches, think about it: You just might be that one person in that kids life who shows them love, kindness, positivity, and encouragement. We rarely know what it’s like for them in the car on the way home, at home around the dinner table, or what their daily life is like. Even though you only see them for maybe a handful of hours every week, you could be making a huge impact on their life. So before you get caught up in their “attitude” or lack of energy and poor body language, take some time to get to know them. Moments like this are WAY bigger than the game.

Adults: Within 5-10 years after our kids graduate HS, most will become spouses, homeowners, parents, employees, business owners, etc. Be careful of making the outcome of youth sporting events bigger than it is. It’s part of their growth. It’s part of their experience. It’s part of their process. That’s really it. Keep it all in perspective. Breathe, control YOUR emotions and enjoy this temporary phase in THEIR life. It will be over before you know it.
