We are pleased to share that Finapp was featured on Rai News 24 following the release of our latest report on drought and water availability in Italy, published on the occasion of World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. The data collected by our CRNS (Cosmic Ray Neutron Sensing) network highlights a concerning situation: ❄️ Alpine snow water reserves are down by 61% compared to a normal season 💧 Soil moisture in Northern Italy is already 30% lower than last year 📉 National deep soil moisture has decreased by 12.4% since the beginning of 2026 Our analysis also reveals a growing divide across the country. While Northern Italy is approaching summer with significant water deficits and depleted snow reserves, Southern Italy has benefited from recent rainfall, although early signs of declining soil moisture are already emerging there as well. These findings reinforce the importance of monitoring water resources based on real measurements rather than reacting only when emergencies arise. Through our CRNS technology, Finapp provides real-time, large-scale, non-invasive measurements of water content in soil and snow, helping farmers, water managers, researchers, and institutions make informed decisions.
