Let me explain why an AI art company just built a full-body medical scanner, because almost everyone is reading this as a random pivot. Ultrasonic CT works by firing sound through your body and recording the ripples that scatter back. Half a million emitters the size of a grain of sand, surrounding you in water, each one listening. What comes back is noise. Reconstructing a clean 3D image of muscle and tissue from that scattered acoustic mess is an inverse problem, and it is brutally hard. The hardware is the easy part. Butterfly Network already makes the chips. The reconstruction is where every previous attempt stalled. That reconstruction is the exact problem Midjourney spent years getting good at. Turning ambiguous input into a coherent image is what they do. They aimed it at sound waves instead of text prompts. This is why the scan takes 60 seconds while a full-body MRI takes 60 to 90 minutes. Close to 100x faster, no radiation, no magnets, resolution down to a fraction of a millimeter. Then read the part most people skipped. The scans happen at a spa. Hot tubs, cold plunges, and a machine that quietly images your whole body while you relax. The scan is a side effect. You barely notice it. Run it forward. The plan is 50,000 machines doing a billion scans every month. Midjourney has no investors and no quarterly hardware margin to chase. The payoff was never the scan fee. A billion monthly full-body scans is the largest longitudinal map of human anatomy ever assembled. Every model trained on it gets sharper, and every sharper model makes the next scan worth more. This was always an image company. They just found a kind of image nobody else could generate.

Gen 2 scanner planned by end of 2026; Gen 3 will use custom silicon. SCANNER vs. MRI: Key Differences - MRI: 60-minute tube, loud, requires sedation for children, expensive, radiation-adjacent. - This scanner: water immersion, 30-60 seconds, no sedation, no radiation, repeatable daily. - Current limitation: not yet FDA-cleared beyond body composition; no AI layer yet applied. - Already better than MRI in certain muscle/fiber/vein boundary resolution at day one THE MIDJOURNEY SPA: - First location: Union Square, San Francisco - 25,000 sq ft, 4 floors - Amenities: hot tubs, saunas, cold plunges, European spa features, gym - 9-10 full scanners on-site - Goal: open by end of 2027 Target: - 50,000 scanners globally, capable of 1 billion scans/month - 5,000 spa locations needed at ~10 scanners each - Estimated $20B capex to scale; Midjourney self-funds the first location - Payback period modeled at ~6 months per location ROADMAP & REGULATORY PATH: - FDA discussions already started; body composition on a clear path - Ascending approval ladder planned:Body composition (near-term, easy) - Sharing data with physicians - Doppler / blood flow imaging - Pregnancy / fetal imaging (ultrasound already approved; this is a natural extension) - Therapeutic applications (tendon/muscle healing, eventually incisionless surgery) AI not yet applied to imaging; planned as a layer once data volume grows LONG-TERM VISION: - Flag anomalies automatically, substitute some blood tests, enable daily health tracking PRICING: - No firm numbers yet; likely spa memberships plus walk-in and scan-only tiers; cost of scan itself is near zero - Data analysis: day one is body composition only; physician sharing gated on FDA progression - Form factors: current design is throughput-optimized (up/down elevator); bathtub and gym-sized variants possible later - Blood test substitution: sub-millimeter daily differentials with AI may eventually replace some tests; acknowledged as frontier science - Cancer destruction via focused ultrasound: technically possible, not on near-term roadmap NEXT STEPS: - Sign up for Midjourney Medical email list for research trial scan invitations - Visit midjourney.com/medical for jobs and updates (page now live) Gen 2 scanner presentation planned before end of 2026 More secret projects to be announced soon.

People have no idea what's coming with the next generation of kids who are AI native. My youngest teen just started an internship. On the first day he was given a "challenging" two weeks worth of work with very specific objectives, timelines, etc. By 10am the next morning he was done the entire list and asking for more work. They didn't think he could possibly be done. How? He used AI to help (with their permission). And he KNOW how to use AI (he's not using it like a google search bar). These AI native kids are gonna run laps around 25-40 year olds that are not using AI.

Maybe @DezBryant AI coding a unicorn would finally convert the doubters.

government destroys value. in this case, the value of an American education was destroyed in ~40 years. if there’s no marketplace for customers (parents of students) to demand value (quality of education for price paid) by simply going to another service provider (school or educator), it is inevitable that costs will go up and quality will go down. this is true of any service provided by government, which effectively grants itself a monopoly, deleting the opportunity for other service providers to compete in offering better value to customers/citizens…
