A search of the location led to the recovery of various items believed to support militant activities, including communication devices, materials linked to improvised explosive devices (IEDs), uniforms, ammunition, food supplies, and other logistical equipment.

Our officers have made a successful operations against Al-Shabaab terrorists resulting in dismantling of a an Al-Shabaab camp located in Qanjara Durow. During the operation, security forces established positions near the Gel Qad Junction before advancing toward Qanjara Durow.

NOTORIOUS CRIME RING BUSTED AS FOUR ARRESTED IN NAKURU COUNTY As the National Police Service intensifies its crackdown on violent crime in Nakuru County, a significant breakthrough was recorded yesterday following a coordinated patrol operation by officers from Mau Narok Police Station. The officers intercepted and apprehended two suspects at Mau-Narok Trading Centre, who had been under police surveillance for some time due to their alleged involvement in criminal activities within the area. Upon arrest, the suspects were found armed with concealed machetes and daggers – a clear indication of their intent to commit violent offences. Preliminary investigations have linked the duo to a notorious criminal gang known locally as the “Men in Black”, which has been associated with a series of robberies and burglaries that have troubled residents and businesses in Mau Narok and its environs. Acting on intelligence gathered during the arrest, officers conducted follow-up operations that led to the recovery of a variety of household goods and a substantial number of electronic items believed to have been stolen. This recovery resulted in the arrest of two additional suspects for the offence of handling stolen property, pointing to a wider network involved in the storage and distribution of stolen goods. All four suspects have been processed and placed in police custody pending arraignment in court. The operation highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing and reaffirms the National Police Service’s commitment to proactively combating violent crime, dismantling organised criminal groups, and enhancing safety and security nationwide.

TWO ILLEGAL FIREARMS SURRENDERED TO POLICE IN ISIOLO COUNTY Members of the public continue to respond positively to the ongoing "Operation Dumisha Usalama". Yesterday, 13th April 2026, two residents of the Lowangila area voluntarily surrendered an AK-47 and a G3 rifle to the National Police Service in Isiolo North Sub-County. The surrendered firearms, magazines, and ammunition have been securely kept in the station armoury pending further police action. The National Police Service commends members of the public for their continued cooperation in this security operation. We urge anyone still in possession of illegal weapons to take advantage of the current amnesty period and surrender them to the nearest police station. Operation Dumisha Usalama remains active as we work together to eliminate illegal firearms and thus ensure a safer Isiolo for all.
