@RetroCoast Used to meet CAFE regulations (EPA) so that was the reason for its existence. And yes, it was Cimmaron, by Cadillac. Think LaSalle back in the day. As with most GM vehicles of that era, the last year of production was the “best”.

@AZIMUTHPNW @DualityElite I wasn’t alive when they were new, so I can’t say. But they seem to work fine. Most of the night driving is on dark country roads. The bugs 🐞 seem attracted to it. And thanks!

@bella_cain25 @pr0ud_americans When I was younger, I followed the car market heavily. Back then there were interesting characters and attractive designs. I don’t have a collection but do have a ‘56 Studebaker and a ‘94 Chrysler convertible.

@Trash_Man84 Rich neighbors drove German cars in the 1980s. Cadillac sales slumped and GM lost massive market share overall in the 1980s. Quality was horrible. That’s why they created Saturn. It was supposed to be a do-over, the correct way to manufacture vehicles.

@TiffanyFongEtc Leaving out that the average age of people getting married has increased. Many aren’t looking for long term relationships and having children doesn’t seem to on the radar. Not stating that this is the main cause of the decline of homeownership but it does play a role.

@Chokpik_NotCase Slowly erased? It’s over. Vehicle manufacturers are in for a huge awakening as younger people opt out of the market completely. With remote work, delivery options, and 🤖 it’s quite possible. The original Mustang brought in a new generation of Ford owners. Today 💯k + 🛻 only.
