The third round of Annual Joint Discussion on Comparable Estimates of State Domestic Product (SDP) between the National Accounts Division (NAD), MoSPI and State Directorates of Economics & Statistics (DES) is being scheduled from 10-12 June, 2026 at Khurshid Lal Bhawan, New Delhi, for finalization of SDP estimates for FY 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 based on the revised base year 2022-23. States/UTs participating in the discussions include Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, Telangana, Tripura and Uttarakhand. The inaugural session will be chaired by Shri. N. K. Santoshi, Director General, Central Statistics (CS), MoSPI. “GDP estimate discrepancies will disappear after revisions” Dr. Saurabh Garg, Secretary, MoSPI, in an interview with Business Standard, highlighted that, while GDP discrepancies in recent estimates have increased, they are expected to reduce to zero by the final revised estimates. He emphasized ongoing advancements in India's statistical system through supply-use tables, revised District Domestic Product guidelines, upcoming city-level estimates of key indicators, and the integration of AI to strengthen the country's statistical infrastructure.
