4th grade Gators showed their knowledge in creative ways, with their Water Cycle Comics in Mr. McKamie's class and a Dream Room Project in Ms. Monteiro's. Such brilliant minds. ❤️ @goochelementary

Reading "Mother Bruce" by Ryan T. Higgins always gets us laughing and in a good mood. Students created "tacky" shirts to wear in Miami with Bruce and his geese. @goochelementary

To get ready for the hot summer, we read "Paletero Man" by Lucky Diaz. Students had a choice to either create their own paleta or share their favorite flavors with the class. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries

3rd Graders have been learning about the importance of financial literacy. Today they held a marketplace event in the gym where they sold handmade items as well as snacks and drinks. Such a fun, hands-on experience. @goochelementary

Tomorrow is Earth Day but we have been celebrating it since Monday. We read "We Are Water Protectors" by Carole Lindstrom. Students then recycled empty snack boxes to create their own unique bookmarks. Lots of fun was had. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries

We are celebrating Library Week here at Gooch. We read "The Library Fish" by Alyssa Satin Capucilli and then kindergarten had a thrilling scavenger hunt before creating their very own library fish. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries

This week we read "The Name Jar" by Yangsook Choi. Students then created their own name jars and practiced using stamps on paper and playdough, similar to the main character, Unhei's, own name stamp. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries

We love a good collaborative project. For Women's History Month, students in 3rd-6th researched influential women in the library and then created beautiful crayon transfer portraits in art to display in the halls right in time for Academic Night. @goochelementary @DISD_Libraries
