@guardian I don't understand why the BBC selection for Andrew Marr's replacement wasn't made before he left. If, say, one of these two had been offered the Sunday morning slot I doubt they'd be leaving!
@RichardGCorbett @BBC I think you need to research the individual reasons before linking all these names. Some would have left for more money (e.g. Stephanie Flanders?), some simply retired (e.g. Mark Mardell?)

@williamnhutton The BBC is crucially important, not least for being ad-free! But if it's forced to make cuts, do we need the BBC news channel? We have Sky News and can watch top BBC news and current affairs programmes like Newsnight, Question Time and Panorama any time on iPlayer.

The sole argument ministers can muster for Brexit now is that it’ll not be quite as bad as some reports suggest..price rises not as high..access to Europe not as limited ..ports’ chaos not as bad etc. They’re wrong but even they seek only to manage the speed of decline.
