I want everyone to know that Christy Fidura (our Colorado Republican National Committeewoman and Vice Chair for the 3rd Congressional District) was NOT neutral. She even attempted to have the RNC pressure me into taking down my photo with POTUS. Let me make this crystal clear: In 2023 Steve and I were personally invited to dinner with President Trump at Bedminster in New Jersey at Trump National Golf Club. The Trump Campaign covered our flights, hotel, and travel expenses. We did not pay for that photo. It was an incredible honor to be invited and spend time with the President. The fact that Christy went to these lengths over a photo tells you everything you need to know about how far certain people were willing to go to protect @RepJeffHurd and stop anyone who truly supported President Trump and the America First movement.

I too struggled deeply with the stigma surrounding addiction. As someone in long-term recovery, once recovery was found, I saw the importance of letting others know, especially in rural and frontier communities, that recovery truly happens. I refused to let stigma define me. For the past 17 years in recovery, speaking up and out has been important so others could see that healing is possible, families can recover, and lives can be rebuilt. Stigma does not define a person. Especially in rural and frontier communities, people need to know there is hope on the other side of addiction and that long-term recovery is possible. We need more hope in recovery. Thank you Secretary Kennedy and Kathryn Burgum for leading this conversation and showing America that recovery is real.
