Iranian state media denied Trump’s claim that he spoke directly with Iranian officials, calling the assertion false.
President Trump said Iran contacted him Wednesday night and asked for the bombing to stop, adding that the U.S. strikes “will stop shortly.”
CENTCOM said the Strait of Hormuz remains open, adding that commercial ships are continuing to transit through the waterway despite Iranian claims of a closure.
Asked what would happen if Iran rejects a proposed agreement, Trump replied: “We’ll bomb the s**t out of them tomorrow night.”
