A commemorative photo was taken featuring the members of the General Assembly of the Association of Detainees and Missing of Sednaya Prison during their first visit to the prison after its liberation. They all endured bitter years of suffering in its depths and darkness, witnessing firsthand the worst crimes committed by its administration and guards. They also lived through the infamous siege that occurred in 2008.

Field researchers and members of the legal team at the Palestinian Centre for #HumanRights interviewed 100 Palestinian former detainees arrested by Israel in #Gaza between October 2023 and 2024. The report 'Torture and Genocide' found that in addition to severe deprivation of food, detainees were subjected to violence and humiliating conditions related to access to food and water. Interviewees were forced to eat and/or drink while handcuffed and/or blindfolded. Some detainees were kicked, punched, or beaten with sticks for asking for food and/or water. Soldiers would place food and snacks in front of detainees which they could not reach while laughing and insulting them, or even eating in front of the hungry detainees.
