Honestly I disagree with the current sentiment that aims to undermine the importance of bosses in a souls game. While I prefer the level experience, the boss experience is just as important to these games as the other aspects, in certain games it's prioritized even more.

@JJunkWarrior I actually think the boss fights in demon souls are just as important as the levels, with the atmosphere and art direction being the main appeal. The level experience in demon souls isn't extremely layered however a stark praise of the game was the puzzle bosses.

So this is the legacy of this series and how the media covers it, the top priority isn't how the gameplay will be improved or how the story will be refined from it's predecessor. No, it's to lets you know that you will still be able to goon just as well.

I've seen people talk about the bosses as if they were the cherry on top, but their extremely important to making these games work with the experience they provide even if your preference is elsewhere. They are a make or break part in designing a souls game despite the quality.

@allenvonghornet My exact point is that the main coverage of the series and what defines it is the sex appeal instead of the other aspects, if the defining legacy of NieR: Automata was 2B's thick thighs instead of it's comprehensive story then it's legacy would be washed inspite of its quality.

@allenvonghornet The main controversy from the moment this game was announced was the appearance of the protagonist and now the main coverage is the sex appeal and how it will increase. That to me portrays a weak legacy of the series.

@allenvonghornet What the fuck does yoko taro have to do with Bayonetta, Bayonetta is still one of the best CAG franchises, and yoko taro’s work is not better than the wonderful 101 so he did not make on something that’s better anything else I’ve ever played.

@Emperor_Sheev66 Sexualized gaming franchises do exist, but they have other major qualities that stand out. Bayonetta is a fanservice filled series but it’s still hailed as one of the best CAG franchises ever. The main concern of this series in terms of public reception is gooning.

@allenvonghornet If the main media coverage of the next bayonetta game is that bayonetta's ass will be fatter then I think the legacy of the series is washed. The main course should be the main appeal not the dessert, that's why it's the main course.
