Maliq, you seem to be a level-headed apologist for Islam, and I have no problem with that. However, ignoring all of the horrific attacks on Western peoples by Muslims is not helping your case. We see the news reports every day. What we never see is Muslims condemning these actions. Why don’t you start? Condemn them. It will help your case.

@GeboMpls The ‘shared civic identity’ was an appointed group of about ten people, all Lefty, who decided we needed to get rid of the historic flag. Nothing was ‘shared’ with this flag design. The flag design itself was rammed down everybody’s throats and is itself deeply counterproductive.

This is the sophomore, ‘hope Trump fails’ take on the situation. Anyone with no bias can clearly understand that dealing with the IRGC is a very difficult task: they are embedded amongst the civilian population like fleas on a dog. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try, and I applaud Trump for trying. I’m not MAGA, I’m not a huge Trump fan for various reasons. But policy wise? He’s a winner, most especially vis-à-vis the Democratic platform.

Good points, all, but you are evading the real issue: with the IRGC it's all or nothing. Obama thought he could get them to act reasonably. False. Trump hoped the initial attacks would trigger internal civil war, and it almost worked, but nope. Those guys are imbedded in the population like ticks, and they have all the weapons. What Trump/Netanyahu have accomplished is setting them back a bit, getting more Arab states onboard, and demonstrating a very firm resolve. I believe this is Act I in a three act play. For the record, everyone knows how the IRGC 'negotiates.' The status quo of allowing the regime to continue as is with no blowback could not continue.
