Ah et au final, je ne blame pas les comptes qui essaient de bonne foi d’éduquer les gens sur une thématique, peu importe leur niveau de connaissance. Non, ce que je blame, c’est les comptes qui font du pump and dump, qui savent très bien exploiter les mouvements de foule et les narratifs. Ce que je blame aussi, c’est le comportement des retails qui s’exposent à des thématiques où ils n’y comprennent rien et viennent ensuite harceler/attaquer les auteurs des notes qui expliquent que les anticipations sont trop élevées
Par ailleurs, c’est le cas pour toutes les thématiques qui pumpent, y compris le nucléaire (SMR) ou le quantique l’an dernier
Tout ce drama autour de la note de SemiAnalysis (qui est d’abord réfutée par Morgan Stanley, mais où ensuite ils s’accordent sur nos chiffres) montrent qu’une seule chose: la boucle magique des réseaux sociaux. ⚠️ Avant de balancer un giga trigger, je tiens à dire que je ne vise personne Le soucis c’est qu’on a des comptes avec très peu de connaissances et qui font beaucoup trop peu de recherche qui publient à balle sur une thématique et qui obtiennent par différents mécanismes beaucoup de visibilité. Ça commence par un article de quelqu’un qui a fait un gros travail, avec une vision bullish sur quelques actions. Ces actions montent et l’article en question est repris par justement ces gens sans grande connaissance qui commencent à publier et surtout à hyper les actions comme pas permis avec des anticipations irréalistes. Sauf que comme ces actions montent, ça attire du monde et ça fait des vues, ce qui incitent ces mêmes comptes à alimenter la boucle. Ça créé un cercle vertueux où le contenu attire du monde car le sujet est tendance, ce qui le rend encore plus tendance et fait encore plus monter les cours, ce qui attire encore plus de monde. Et là on en arrive au point le plus toxique où ça finit par mettre en avant des acteurs de plus en plus petits et de moins en moins pertinent. Le soucis c’est que ça ne peut pas durer infiniment et que la réalité finit toujours par frapper. Du coup, une note/article sort, rappelant que l’enthousiasme est largement infondé, et que les projections sont souvent 3-4-5-6x au dessus de la réalité. Mais le soucis c’est que les entreprises adossées à cette thématique ont entre temps gagné en exposition et visibilité, surtout auprès de retails qui y comprennent encore moins de choses que les auteurs des posts sur la thématique. Du coup, les gens deviennent irrationnels et émotionnels et accusent les auteurs de la note/article de manipulation de marché ou je ne sais quoi d’autre, sans même avoir lu la note. Bref, tout ça pour dire qu’il faut faire attention à ce que vous pouvez lire en ligne, et surtout de faire attention aux tourist exposure stocks
