Starting my library career midway through the first semester during a pandemic is an interesting experience. I am having a hard time deciding what to focus on first; I have so many Big Picture plans that it is a challenge to zoom in on day to day tasks. Any advice? #txlchat
I've been trying to think of ways to allow students to "browse" other than the online catalog. This is brilliant!
Telling children who love graphic novels that "graphic novels do not help you grow as a reader," is not true and diminishes the children right along with the books. Reading doesn't belong to school. It belongs to readers. Value them!
The very first research paper I wrote for my masters degree was about the importance of a PLN for school librarians. I haven't been keeping up with my own PLN, but I intend to change that and make more connections to help me continue to learn and grow.
Hello world! I have not been on this account pretty much at all in recent months, but I have finally gotten a school librarian position! I'm at an all girls 6th-12th grade campus and I am so excited (and nervous) about it all!
I wish I could go for the whole time, but alas I don’t think I can justify being away from my students a whole week (I’m already taking a whole week off in February to take my end of program exams for my degree)

I used @esgisoftware for assessments last year and I LOVED it, but I can't afford it this yr so all the emails from them are bumming me out
First week is done. I am so exhausted. I have 50% more students this year than last and they are A Lot.
