@toodoor @BadWilf They'd have to cast a new Doctor, design/build sets (since Bad Wolf will probably take current TARDIS set down now they are not longer involved), write scripts, etc. My guess is the tendering process alone may take 2 years, then another 3 or 4 years to put everything together.

@GeorgeIsLostYT @timelesschild I read putting it out to tender as a polite way of saying shows cancelled for now (rather than just saying Christmas cancelled & RTD/Bad Wolf out). Depends if there's a formal tender process, or if they are just putting show out there, and waiting for someone to come forward.

@Liam_HW @theDWshow Plus building/rebuilding sets (e.g. the current TARDIS set would probably get taken down now Bad Wolf no longer involved). By the time it returns, for a special or otherwise, will probably be 5 or 6 years, so same gap as last classic series and TV movie!

@JugglingJelly @BadWilf In some ways it's worse than post-1989, as at least then there was a "current" Doctor (McCoy and then McGann). Now we have no current Doctor, plus "is she or isn't she the Doctor" Billie Piper regeneration. Which makes merchandise, spin-off comics, books, etc. a nightmare.
