@daylightlando Qualifying is timed over 4 laps, and each driver has the track to themselves for that 4 lap run to ensure there's no unfair advantage/disadvantage from slipstreaming other cars. The qualifying draw is simply to decide the order of who goes first/last etc.

@privatehireguy@agile_phil @donlinch @mikeasharp Theyre not excluding EVs from overnight per se, only if you request a large charge over ~44kw that takes over 6 hours to fulfill will hour 7+ be at peak, regardless of what time of day. If you request a smaller charge, some/all will happen overnight and still cheap rate.
@hypervolt@agile_phil Overnight charge targets are still achieved by the target time though, so the IOG algorithm clearly takes these reduced output charge sessions into account when assigning slots. This is OK at the moment but not when the new 6 hour charge limits apply.
@hypervolt@agile_phil I've seen a post by Ohme mentioning upcoming fixes for OIG users seeing throttled charges on IOG, but nothing about Hypervolt, will this be fixed for us too? An IOG charge NEVER sees more than ~6.8kw peak and throttles many 30min slots.

Theres a clear 30 minute step down in output, on the hour to the second exactly when dispatch slots start/finish. If this was supply load related it wouldn't follow this pattern or be as consistently throttled

Hypervolt for one is also definitely affected, here's quite an extreme example from earlier in the week that my Hypervolt logged via Home Assistant. Every change in output coincides exactly with a 30min timeslot
@aleksan30409461@autosport This isn't a scenario where a decision is needed. Lando is 16 points ahead of Oscar so if they're 1-2 then Lando wins the title regardless. If Oscar is leading, Max can't win regardless but Lando would need to be 6th or lower for Oscar to take the title

@denkmit 8 out of 10 team principals in F1 come from an engineering background so they must be doing something right. Toto and Flav are the true exceptions and perhaps you could argue Fred Vasseur, who has an engineering background but has run his own and other teams for nearly 30 years.
@adamcooperF1 If the team thought it was so marginal, couldn't they have told him to park it after the chequered flag? I don't think there's a technical requirement to finish the cool down lap is there?
