In a free society, nobody should ever be forced to do business with anyone. Everything should be consensual. So if you want rent control, you're against the idea of a free society. Instead, you want to force people to do business with people without their consent. Forcing people to transact without consent is about as wrong as wrong can be.

Instead of unions, we should make it culturally normal for employees to get equity. That way, if the company does well and grows, the employees get a piece. And incentives are aligned. The issue with unions is that incentives are not aligned, so they often end up either killing the host or lowering the amount of value that the host produces. That makes everyone poorer.

@supermarke If we're not checking IDs, it easy to claim "zero fraud", since nothing is being verified. It's just like if a bar didn't check IDs, and then claims "no people under 21 ever had a drink!" Well of course, if you're not checking, there's no way to prove otherwise.

@Tenderloin94109 @supermarke Pretty much every government entitlement requires an ID, so you'd have to be privileged to get by without one. Poor people all have one unless they don't receive any entitlements, which is very rare.
