Winchell’s second DPOY crown in as many years makes him the second Crook to win an award this season. Jeff has cemented himself as the league's premier defender, leading the league and his team in blocks, and anchoring the team that was 1st in D EFG%, D REB%, and was 2nd in DRTG
Congrats to the Defensive Player of the Year: Jeff Winchell! Winchell averaged 12.4 ppg, 8.4 rpg and led the league with 2.5 blocks per game. Winchell has now won this award for the second-straight season! #BuildYourLegacy #award #DefensivePlayeroftheYear
After setting countless records last season, it’s hard to have a better sophomore year than Gian. He took a “dip” from his 40 PPG last year and averaged nearly 30 PPG in 2023, narrowly missing out on his second scoring title, and was top five in every major statistical category.

Charles Alexander had one of the most productive rookie seasons we’ve seen in recent years, scoring the third most points by a rookie since Summer ‘19 (trailing only Jose Mercado and Gian Avedisian). After losing Avedisian, the RI Warriors are fortunate to have found a new star

Mario Valerio took some time away from the Legacy Leagues and got himself right before coming back. He cracked the top-5 in PPG this season, and improved every aspect of his game in his second season. We’ll see him again in the ASG and the 3-Point Contest doing what he does best

Freeman’s move to the bench this season has been one that has benefitted both him and the Halfway Crooks as a team. Despite the few expected statistical drops with the fewer minutes, his improved efficiency this year has put the Crooks within arms reach of a championship win

Two “Team Season Total” records were also broken last night. The Game Breakers now have the “Most 3-Pointers Attempted in a Season” with 366, and the RI Warriors have the “Most Offensive Rebounds in a Season” with 141
Another former Sin City member has a chance to make history. With his 4 turnovers last night, Halfway Crooks big man Devon Pina has tied the record for “Most Turnovers in a Season” with 37. He has one game left to try and make the mark his own
The Semifinals are through, and a handful of more records were broken, tied, or confirmed. With one game left in the Summer 2023 season, here’s who etched their names in the books last night (THREAD)
At long last - After 8 long seasons, and 4 previous Semifinals losses, the Halfway Crooks, one of two remaining original @Legacy_Leagues franchises (technically the last remaining original franchise depending on how you view it) are heading to the Finals for the first time
Love them or hate them, never bet against them. @LobCity_LL lives to see their third straight Finals, and likely set themselves up to be the favorite regardless of opponent
@LobCity_LL The Crooks are hoping that the team that gave them their first loss also won't hand them their last. In Week One they held the Warriors to their lowest points this year, so their key tomorrow night will be for their two All-Stars Pina and Langston to outpace Alexander and Dowdell
@LobCity_LL In Week One against the Crooks, the Warriors were led by All Stars Charles Alexander and Marvin Dowdell, who hit 9 of the team’s 14 3PM. Aidan Dozois was not present in that matchup, but is another spark plug that could get the Warriors over their Semifinals hump from last year

@LobCity_LL On the team side of things, the RI Warriors filled the books, setting new highs for Field Goals Made, Field Goals Attempted, Defensive Rebounds, and Total Rebounds. The Halfway Crooks set a new high for Assists, and @BallDontLieRI set the new mark for 3-Pointers Attempted
@LobCity_LL Alexander also handedly broke the record for “Most Field Goals Made in a Playoff Game”, with his 27 FGM surpassing the previous record of 18, shared by Mercado (Summer ‘23 Quarterfinals) and Max Matroni (The Alliance, Fall ‘17 Finals)
With the Quarterfinals out of the way, several single playoff game records were broken on both the individual and team side. We hope to see more great performances in the semifinals, but for now let’s take a look at who had historic nights in the first round (THREAD)
