Participated in my first 3D-printed construction site in 2024. While 3D printing offers formal freedom, it also brings new constraints. Seeing robotic arms replace scaffolding makes it clear: the logic of design-to-construction is being redefined. Instead of commanding points, start designing potentials. I’ve been obsessed with organic density gradients lately. The "winner"? Stochastic Sampling Random < Probability ー or what I call "Density Bleeding". Topological Bar Tape: A Phase-Shift Approach This methodology generates bar tape geometry conforming to complex freeform curves by replacing conventional cross-section sweep methods with a lofting process based on Phase Manipulation (Shift List). The process initiates with the generation of a helical point sequence derived from a series of circles along the handlebar's central axis. It is characterized by form generation via lofting between two phase-shifted curves: the "preceding locus points (n)" and the "following locus points ($n-1$)", without requiring additional geometric computation.
