Today @NFIB released the May SBET report. The Small Business Optimism Index declined to 95.3 in May, remaining below the 52-year average of 98.0. While hiring plans and job openings decreased, earnings trends rose by 4 points.

The BLS announced that in May, the U.S. economy gained 172,000 jobs, and the unemployment rate remained at 4.3%. Also in May, @NFIB’s jobs report found that a net 9% of small business owners plan to hire soon, and 29% currently have unfilled job openings.
