@JaniKiikka@lumathrax@kubsztal@stadmore@edwinarbus @jmplourde_ That prompt, and any prompt involving counting or operating in letters is going to fail always even once we have AGI and AI beats every human in everything else. The reason is that the AI don't see words, they see tokens, and token 1281781 has no fucking r in it.
@housecor Fine so long as (1) it is a nested function, not a function in the outer scope, and (2) the function is declared before it's usage.
(1) You don't want to clutter the global scope.
(1) You want to know at a glance from where the code can be invoked.
(2) No jumps while reading.
@AdamDyde@RLodbrok@YourFriend257@RyanEls4 I didn't expect to be a spec for it since pseudo-code isn't supposed to be formally defined. That makes the correction right.
But seriously, at that point just use a real language no? How are you supposed to practice without running the code? Do they have an interpreter too?
@RLodbrok@YourFriend257@RyanEls4 Where can I find this pseudo-code specification? If there is no spec I may as well make something up. If can make something up, I may as well decide that specifics strings literals such as "Monday" correpond to Date objects, if you want the actual string you must escape it.
@ThePrimeagen Another one is for options. Say you have a function that has a lot of options. You could have 10 arguments, or you make an Options object. There may be defaults, so you pass a Partial<Options> and merge with the defaultOptions instance.
@ThePrimeagen I use patterns like this, but for updates. Say you have a User and then you make a method to update any field, you pass a Partial<User> to that method.
@abacaj AGI means it is capable of doing everything a common human can, we're not there yet, surpassing experts in a narrow task is easy (e.g. calculators), but that ain't AGI, the G (General) in AGI matters.
