Knowing how Fake News operates, the below post had me Curious... so i decided to take a look. Did you know that Mt. Gox was named Mt Gox by its Founder, Jed McCaleb, who wanted to start a Magic the Gathering On-line exchange? That was the original intent behind Mt. Gox. MTGOX = Magic The Gathering Online eXcahnge Mt Gox was first exploited just 3 months after Jed McCaleb sold his SHIBuya, Tokyo, Japan based exchange, Mt. Gox in March of 2011. Accoring to Wikipedia, to prove Mt. Gox still had control over its funds in June 2011, they moved 424,242 Bitcoins in 1 transaction. This Bitcoin would go thru a 3 year rug, from 2011 to 2014. Over the next 3 years, Mt. Gox was slowly rugged, losing over 850,000 Bitcoin, worth over $35 Billion today. I think anyone and everyone would agree that $35 Billion in Crypto is a lot of Crypto that will need to be laundered in several different ways. Enough opportunity to maybe provide liquidity services, build blockchains, invest in ICO's, maybe even buy some MTG cards. This is me just thinking thru the problem of having 850K Bitcoin that needs moved. Anyways... Jed McCaleb later went on to found Ripple, who has arguably its largest presence in Japan, a partnership with SBI Holdings, who I agrue founded money laundering token, $SHIB. Japan happens to also be where Mt. Gox was headquartered. In February 2014, Mt. Gox seized trading, 5 months prior to the Ethereum Token launch. That same month (Feb-2014), the then CEO of Mt. Gox, stepped down from the board of the Bitcoin Foundation. When Mt. Gox's exploit was announced, the price dipped 37%, a similar price action to that of Ethereum based, The DAO's exploit aftermath. Ethereum's largest original exchange used by the Ethereum Foundation, Kraken, founder Jesse Powell was assigned to assist in the processing of the more than 127,000 creditors of Mt. Gox. This was announced early January of 2015. BTC-E, accused of laundering Mt. Gox funds, was the original funder of a few of DerrickLiu_eth's wallets. They sent 100 ETH from BTC-E using a Split-Transaction contract setup by Krakens Deployer. Remember the 424,242 BTC that Mt. Gox moved in June 2011? Ethereum's Block 0, which was the block where all 70Mish of Ethereum's presold ICO tokens were distributed, took place on Nonce 0x0000000000000042. We could go on... We got denied some funding last week, I guess we aren't good enough 🫡 Always stay curious my friends, Boring Sleuth
