@MrTomGray Hello Tom, I believe it is an artifact of the low bit depths and sample rates used for telephone transmission. It results in aliasing and quantisation errors which, sound like nasty HPF effects and digital distortion. It's most likely in constant shift due to bandwidth changes.

@insanerainmusic Oddly, I say dot wav (as in have) when actually discussing saving files, but when generally discussing the format I use the word wave, as in wave file format.
