Wall Street just pulled off the exact move that turned 2008 from a housing problem into a global collapse. They turned Nvidia graphics cards into bonds, stamped them investment grade, and started selling them into the funds that hold retirement money. Here is what happened while everyone was busy arguing about whether AI stocks were overvalued: The company at the center is CoreWeave, which rents out Nvidia chips to AI companies. To buy those chips, it borrows enormous sums, and the collateral on the loans is the chips themselves. That alone is alarming because a graphics card LOSES most of its value within a few years as the next generation makes it obsolete. You are lending against an asset built to rot. In January, Nvidia invested $2 billion straight into CoreWeave, which then used borrowed money to buy more Nvidia chips. On March 31, CoreWeave closed an $8.5 billion loan backed by its chips, and for the first time the rating agencies stamped that chip-backed debt investment grade, with Moody's assigning it an A3. Debt secured by depreciating graphics cards was rated nearly as SAFE as a blue-chip corporate bond. Then on May 18, CoreWeave closed the first chip-backed facility designed to be publicly syndicated and traded on secondary markets. And that's the part that really matters because it means this debt can now be sliced up, passed around, and bought by anyone, including the bond funds and pension managers who are required to hold "safe" investment-grade paper. On June 11, it announced another $3.5 billion in bonds on top of all of it. Now compare this to what happened in the past: Subprime mortgages in 2007 were not dangerous because some people got loans they couldn't repay... They became a global bomb the moment that debt got rated AAA and sold into the wider financial system, because the rating is what let it bleed into money market funds, pensions, and bank balance sheets that were supposed to be boring and safe. The bad loans were the spark but the packaging and rating were the detonator. And that detonator just got built for AI. Debt backed by graphics cards is now rated investment grade and trades on secondary markets, which means the AI bubble is no longer trapped inside tech stocks you can choose not to own. It has been quietly converted into bonds and routed toward the retirement accounts of people who have never typed a single prompt in their lives. And the whole structure rests on a backlog of customer "commitments" that CoreWeave values at nearly $100 BILLION, backed by a $21 billion Meta deal and a $6 billion Jane Street deal. Those are promises to pay over many years, made by AI companies that are themselves mostly unprofitable and burning cash. If even a few of those customers slow down or walk away, the collateral sitting under all this rated debt is a warehouse of chips losing value by the month. The AI bubble used to be a stock-market story you could opt out of. But as of this spring, that isn't the case anymore. So here's the real question: When the people packaging this debt swear to you that it's safe, who do you think is standing on the other side of that trade?

Big Tech just ran out of money building AI and what they're doing to cover it up should be illegal. Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Meta are spending a combined $700 BILLION this year on AI infrastructure. This eats up 94% of their total operating cash flow. The richest companies in human history are almost broke. And instead of slowing down, they're covering it up with the biggest financial engineering operation since 2008: Google just sold $80 billion in stock to fund AI infrastructure. That was their first equity raise in 20 YEARS. The last time Google needed to sell stock, YouTube didn't even exist. Sundar Pichai admitted the thing keeping him up at night is "compute capacity." The company that prints $100 billion a year in ad revenue just told Wall Street it isn't enough anymore. Amazon's free cash flow is projected to go NEGATIVE this year for the first time ever. Morgan Stanley estimates a $17 billion deficit and Bank of America says $28 billion. The most profitable logistics machine on Earth is about to burn more cash than it generates, and they quietly filed with the SEC saying they may need to raise even more debt and equity to keep building. All four hyperscalers are now borrowing hundreds of billions in bonds to keep the AI buildout alive. These were the most cash-rich companies in human history, and they're leveraging themselves to the teeth to build infrastructure that nobody has proven will generate enough revenue to pay for itself. And the cracks are already starting to show: Broadcom makes the custom AI chips that power Google, Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic. This week their AI revenue TRIPLED year over year, sales grew 48%, and profits smashed every Wall Street estimate. The reward for all of that was $320 billion in value erased in a single trading session. Their CEO Hock Tan went on the earnings call and exposed three things about the AI industry: Google is already shopping for cheaper AI chip alternatives, broadcom abandoned its strategy of selling complete AI systems and is now retreating to selling bare chips at lower margins. And despite supposedly "unprecedented demand," Tan refused to raise his full-year forecast, which tells you everything about what he's actually seeing behind the curtain. Wall Street heard all three and hit the sell button so hard it dragged AMD, Intel, and the entire chip sector down with it. When a company triples its AI revenue and gets punished because tripling isn't fast enough, the expectations have left the atmosphere entirely. And here's the really scary part... These companies ARE your retirement account. Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Meta, and Nvidia make up roughly 30% of the S&P 500. If you have a 401k or an index fund, you are already exposed to this bet whether you chose to be or not. Every single one of these companies is telling you AI will generate trillions in revenue. But right now the math says they're spending trillions FIRST and hoping the revenue shows up later. If the revenue catches up, this becomes the greatest infrastructure buildout in human history. Bigger than railroads and bigger than the internet. If it doesn't, the companies that make up a third of the American stock market just leveraged their balance sheets into the largest write-down cycle since 2000. And unlike the dot-com crash, this time the bubble companies aren't random startups with no revenue. They're the backbone of the entire global economy.

This whole $IREN vs $NBIS argument is actually pretty simple. If you literally believe $NBIS will become the next AWS which means: - it becomes a vertically integrated hyperscaler that not only provides next-gen compute GPU clusters but also services the long-tail of customers who just want to plug into an API for open source models and build applications on top of its platform Then yes, you should invest in Nebius, even at this price. I don't believe it has enough differentiation from AWS, GCP, Azure. And I fail to see why customers already locked into those contracts will want to take the humongous effort of migrating their entire tech stack to another vendor when open source models also exist on AWS, GCP, Azure. I also am doubtful a ton of value when migrate to watered-down open source when it's pretty clear all of the value today is largely captured by Claude and then GPT. Keep in mind that if Anthropic / Open AI wanted to distill their models for more efficiency, they could just ... do that. Also just look around in enterprise: - nobody who codes use open-source -> it's all Claude or GPT (Meta / Google all use Claude instead of their internal models) - in enterprise workflows it's really just claude. everywhere. - the solo-pretreneur might use open source but open source does dominate enterprise. Claude /GPT (mostly Claude) does. Why do you think Open AI / Anthropic are starting to hire all of those FDE's? Levels of customers: - layer 1: Hyperscalers - these are the googles, Microsofts, Amazons of the world who just want bare-metal - layer 2: AI Labs like anthropic + open AI, also just mostly want bare metal - layer 3: Jane Street, FireworksAI, TogetherAI, Tik Tok, Palantir -> Some want bare-metal-like performance with a managed Kubernetes/Slurm layer; some want full managed AI cloud primitives; some might just want pure bare-metal. (Here $CRWV > $NBIS > $IREN) - layer 4: larger enterprises from finance / tech companies / real estate like JP Morgan to Salesforce to DR Horton. Salesforce uses all of AWS, GCP, Azure. Specifically, it builds a number of applications on top of AWS Sagemaker. My view is that most of the value will come from layer 1 to layer 3 because the vast majority of the value from layer 4 will be captured by AWS, GCP, Azure. And since this is my view, $NBIS can be reduced to an infrastructure play. Seems reductive, but I largely think this will be true over the next few years. And if you view Neoclouds largely as an infrastructure play, then you're better off investing in $IREN. And because that is my view, no amount of genius mathematician programmer CEO, or mid-tier software engineers will really make a difference will lead to higher-quality infrastructure + faster data center development timelines. I'll also mention that the smartest engineers in the world don't go and say "I want to work for Nebius". They work at these places, in higher to lower talent density (all high): - anthropic -> today, everyone wants to work here - open AI - cursor - databricks - fireworks AI - google - meta - stripe - ramp - decagon - etc. It's actually pretty simple. You can say your a CEO is a genius at programming, you can say you have smart engineers, you can see Yandex is awesome, you can say you have cool subsidiaries, but it doesn't matter when you're engineers really aren't world-class and when that has nothing to do with your core-business: building real-world infrastructure to power AI workloads. What has happened so far is that Nebius has done a good job of plugging in GPU's for Microsoft, even if they haven't come from Vineland. I applaud them for that. At the same time I think it's sus this compute is not coming from Vineland. But that's the easy part of their portfolio. Someone tell me how they will deliver on their backlog when a site like Missouri doesn't even have an interconnect agreement there. Pretty sure this site will have to use BTM to bridge the gap as well. Someone tell me whether paying Data One for colocation and then paying Bloom Energy on top of Data One is a good or bad look. I'll also be candid here about $IREN: - they have had some growing pains - horizon 1 is by far the hardest part of their portfolio because they're improvising as they go - getting GPU's has been a bitch - they still have to prove they can scale AI revenue from a meager 33 million last quarter to billions over the course of the next few quarters - they still have to prove they can deliver and operate liquid cooled datacenters at scale It's not like $IREN is perfect, but because I have an edge in knowing how the Horizon development is going + company roots + ability to source long-lead items + the genuine differentiation it has with its huge portfolio, I see it as more de-risked from an infrastructure standpoint than Nebius. For all of these companies - Nebius, Coreweave, Iren, my view is that they should not be evaluated as software companies, but as infrastructure first companies. It follows that if you don't have an infrastructure first background, then you might win the early game, but you won't win the late game. Good luck.

Today the EU made American AI illegal in 27 countries. The reason is ONE sentence Microsoft's own lawyer said under oath: This morning in Brussels, EU Tech Chief Henna Virkkunen unveiled the Cloud and AI Development Act. It's the most aggressive anti-American tech move from Europe since GDPR. The law forces EU public sector procurement in banking, healthcare, defense, and energy to apply mandatory non-price factors favoring software and hardware built inside the EU. Microsoft Azure can be cheaper, AWS can be faster, Google Cloud can have the better model, and EU governments MUST legally prefer European alternatives. AWS, Microsoft, and Google currently control roughly 70% of the European cloud market. Brussels is now openly targeting greater independence from US providers in cloud, AI, and semiconductors. The largest regulatory market-share transfer in tech history is being written into law right now. But the real story is how this happened... On June 10, 2025, a man almost no one outside Brussels had heard of walked into the French Senate. His name is Anton Carniaux, Director of Public and Legal Affairs at Microsoft France. Senator Dany Wattebled asked him under oath whether he could guarantee that data belonging to French citizens, stored on Microsoft European servers, would never be transmitted to US authorities without explicit consent from the French government. Carniaux answered honestly. He admitted he could not guarantee it, because Microsoft must comply with the US CLOUD Act regardless of where European data physically sits. One sentence of sworn testimony from Microsoft's own counsel killed every sovereign cloud defense Big Tech had spent five years building. It became the legal foundation for the law unveiled today. Then Trump accelerated the divorce. January 2025 brought executive orders expanding US surveillance authorities. Vance went to Munich and attacked European democracies on stage. The tariffs followed and so did the Pentagon's $200 million AI contract war that ended with OpenAI replacing Anthropic after Hegseth labeled it a supply chain risk. So did OpenAI's Stargate and yesterday's Trump AI Executive Order, whose Section 3 lets the White House pick which AI companies get 30-day early access to frontier models. American AI was officially declared a US government strategic asset. Europe heard every word of it. On May 12, Mistral CEO Arthur Mensch told the French National Assembly that Europe had 24 months to build sovereign AI infrastructure or become a permanent US VASSAL state. And the response came fast: April 24: Cohere acquired Germany's Aleph Alpha for $20 billion with both Germany's and Canada's digital ministers in the room at the Berlin announcement. May 30: SoftBank committed up to $87 BILLION for French nuclear-powered data centers, the largest AI infrastructure project in European history. Yesterday: EU Parliament announced it's dropping Google for French search engine Qwant tomorrow. France ordered every government workstation off Windows and onto Linux. Today the Cloud and AI Development Act made all of it law. - Mistral is building a 1.4 gigawatt AI campus near Paris by 2028 with Nvidia, MGX, and Bpifrance - SAP's EU AI Cloud, launched last November, runs on Cohere, Mistral, and SAP's own sovereign infrastructure - McKinsey forecasts $600 billion in sovereign AI needs by 2030 None of that money is going to Silicon Valley. The America First AI policy built a wall around the world's most regulated economy, and American companies are on the wrong side of it. Microsoft's lawyer told the truth in a Senate hearing nobody watched. Trump turned that admission into a national security narrative while the EU turned that narrative into procurement law. And one entire continent walked away from the American tech stack...

Needs reclaim of the 200-day around 80k. $SMH: Momentum has slowed. Four straight days of consolidation.
