@nixcraft I think this idea was started from assembly language. This language operates addresses. Address is a number. It points both to single byte and to group of bytes starting from that byte. If you omit offset (=index), you access 1st byte. Omitting offset is the same as offset = 0.

@nixcraft I thought it's like host-to-pointer conversion function (see uint32_t htonl(uint32_t hostlong); uint16_t htons(uint16_t hostshort); uint32_t ntohl(uint32_t netlong); uint16_t ntohs(uint16_t netshort); ), which would be strange and funny.

Next is the mystery apple ii card! Sadly it too has been stripped for parts, but look at that lovely wiring! Absolutely a work of art. At a guess I would say this is a ROM card. I would imagine this was a design from a magazine -hopefully I can find out what it was meant to do!
