That's so weird you used Lucille Ball. You probably know the story about me being named after Ricky Ricardo. Lucy was pregnant at the same time as my mom and my older brother decided to name me Ricky. They ended up with Richard but I was raised as Ricky until I was a teenager and became Rick.

10 years before she retired, my mom got a job at the University of Texas at Arlington's print department. She became a stripper. A litho stripper, working with film and negatives. She adored the job and made good friends. Because of those 10 years, she received teacher's retirement from UTA. It's what supplemented her income in her old age. She always told the story about how she almost didn't go to the interview because she had absolutely no experience. She always swore that God gave her the strength. It turned out that they liked her and gave her a chance. I reminded her that when my dad left when I was eight years old we were dirt poor. We barely got by, even after she got the job. We had no extra money, we ate crappy food, played with used toys and I wore hand-me-downs my entire life. We had a Christmas tree for two different years because the local grocer felt sorry for her. I always told her the strength to do what was needed was inside of her. She rode the bus to work every day whether she had a toothache, a backache or any other illness. She wasn't given or handed anything. Except maybe a little good luck in getting the job. And that she herself impressed them during that initial interview. The strength came from her. Of course, she never strayed from her beliefs. God always got the credit even though she lost a lot of faith when she lost her husband to another woman and she never attended church again. There is no point here. I just needed to get that off my chest. And one thing I'll say about Twitter... it can be great therapy. But then again, so can Jack Daniels.

I was tweeting in another post this morning, talking about how we were really poor when I was growing up. A banquet TV dinner was a luxury and although I know what kind of quality I'm getting for $1.38, I still eat them every now and then. One of my favorites were their pot pies. The crust was out of this world delicious. So when I discovered this at Walmart for $1, I entered Nirvana.

So let me get this straight… We’re now being told JD Vance used the Situation Room to lead “war room” meetings about the Epstein fallout. Allegations of Trump sexually abusing minors? I thought the Situation Room was for actual wars. Trump keeps telling everyone to move on while the Epstein story keeps getting bigger and closer to home. Then BOOM. We’re in a war with Iran. A war nobody voted for, nobody wanted, and few can clearly explain. Straits of Hormuz closed. Gas prices skyrocket. The entire news cycle changed overnight. Funny how quickly Epstein disappeared from the headlines. You can outrun a news cycle. The print and legacy news media is a joke. You can’t outrun Epstein forever. WE are watching. WE are not stupid. WE are united in the Tired of the Bullshit party.
