2/2) I am as strongly anti-Trump as anyone here. Having said that, you might want to consider deleting any posts that state as a fact that "Trump raped little kids, killed them! —he’s a murderer" That is the type of statement that could get you sued for libel. Trump is known for filing defamation lawsuits, and he is now hinting he may go after influencers. You might be too obscure for him to notice you, and the (relatively) small number of followers you have might protect you if he thinks you're not worth going after. But why attract the Eye of Sauron? It is far better to sprinkle a few "allegedly"s in your posts and make such claims less definitive. Use words like might and maybe and I suspect. I would not call him a pedophile because I do not have enough evidence to back that statement, but I feel comfortable calling him a pedo-protector, because Marjorie Taylor Greene has said that that is what he is. The problem with your argument is that it runs into the slippery slope. What if we are 99.9% sure? 99.8% sure? 96% sure? What is the cutoff number, and who decides the percentage? Also eyewitness territory is notoriously unreliable. And with AI, even video may be unreliable--and AI technology is only going to get better and better. Finally, how do we completely eliminate the possibility of dirty cops and prosecutors planting or manufacturing evidence? I know that this is probably very rare, but it does happen. Once the death penalty has been carried out, there is no taking backsies if we found out that the conviction had been obtained through crooked and illegal means. I was in favor of the death penalty for most of my life, but I changed my mind after seeing innocent people were being executed. If we could be 100% certain that we got the verdict right 100% of the time, I would be for the death penalty. There are certainly evil people who have committed horrendous acts who deserve it. But since I can't be 100% certain that we will always get it right, it is better to let 1000 murderers spend the rest of their lives in jail than to execute one wrongfully convicted person.
