This World Cup is starting to look more and more shambolic 😅 And I don’t say that lightly... A fan in Seattle has shared prices ahead of the tournament, with water reportedly around £4.40 and beer around £14. I know stadium prices are never friendly (especially in the US!) but for a global tournament where fans have already paid a fortune to be there… surely there has to be a line? By only the second game, South Korea vs Czech Republic had visible empty seats. And with some sections reportedly priced between $400 (£298) and $5,000 (£3,730), I can’t say I’m surprised 🤷‍♂️ And the cherry on top? England’s match boots, balls and training equipment were reportedly stolen on the way to Kansas City. Honestly, you couldn’t make some of this up 😂 Football is the game of the people. It should be inclusive, safe and enjoyable for EVERYONE!! But with FIFA projected to earn almost $9bn in revenue, at least the balance sheet will have a great World Cup👀💰 (📷:NoahRiffe)

One of the best days of my life 🥹 Ten years ago, we opened our EURO 2016 campaign with a 2-1 win over Slovakia, and honestly, it still feels surreal looking back. To come on and score the winner in the 81st minute was honestly one of the most incredible feelings. To do that for Wales, in our first ever match at a European Championship finals, with that group and in front of those fans… I’ll NEVER forget it ❤️ Football gives you some incredible memories, but doing it for your country hits differently. From childhood selfies to champagne in Monaco… 🍾🏎️ Kimi Antonelli has just won the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton and Isack Hadjar joining him on the podium. An exciting race, but what I love is that old photos have resurfaced of Kimi and Isack with Lewis when they were young aspiring drivers 🥹 And then there’s this stat: The age gap between Kimi in P1 and Lewis in P2 was 21 years, 7 months and 17 days - the biggest between first and second in Monaco Grand Prix history!!! 🤯 For Kimi and Isack, it shows how quickly dreams can become real. The moment a dream reaches home 🥹 18-year-old Zadok Yohanna has joined Brighton from AIK Stockholm in a reported £21.5m deal - potentially the biggest outgoing transfer in Swedish league history 🤯 And AIK only signed the Nigerian winger from a local academy setup in Kaduna last year… It’s the kind of rise most players only dream of 👏 But this video of his father hearing the news got me ❤️ You can see Zadok getting emotional, because he understands exactly what this means. His father might not fully grasp the size of the move in that moment, but I’m sure when he sees his son on the big screen in a Premier League stadium, it’ll all sink in. People see the headline. The basics have to be better than this 😂 Fans spotted incorrect England names on the stadium board during the pre-World Cup friendly against New Zealand in Tampa. I’ll admit, there was a tiny part of me that found this funnier than I probably should have. But even then… come on. You can have the biggest tournament in the world, giant stadiums, fireworks and a pirate ship in the corner. This gave me goosebumps!! 🎆 Paraguay are heading back to the World Cup after 16 years away, and over 34,000 fans turned up for their friendly against Nicaragua before the squad departed. Fireworks, noise, colour, emotion… that is some send-off!! As a player, you never forget what it feels like when people genuinely believe in you. it changes the energy around a group. Football doesn’t create many moments like this 💫⚽️ Brothers Désiré and Guéla Doué were both born in France and came through Rennes, but are heading towards the World Cup with different nations: France and Côte d’Ivoire 🌍 And this week, they faced each other in an international friendly 👀 Côte d’Ivoire beat France 2-1 for their first-ever win over Les Bleus, with Guéla scoring the equaliser!! I get the idea... I just don’t get the logic 👀 FIFA has made a late change to its World Cup stadium rules, banning fans from bringing reusable water bottles into grounds because of safety concerns. Fans will still be able to buy water inside the stadiums, which is the bit that makes this feel strange 👀 So you can’t take an empty bottle in because you might throw it… but you can buy a bottle of water inside that you could also throw? That part makes no sense to me 🤦‍♂️ This World Cup has already caused a stir, from ticket pricing to hotels and local transport, so I get why supporters are frustrated. But when I was playing, hydration was drilled into us every single day → before training, during training, after games, travelling, recovering… it was treated as basic welfare. Fans deserve the same common sense 🤷‍♂️ If supporters can’t bring their own bottle, then water inside the stadium has to be easy to access, fairly priced and available without ridiculous queues. The most underrated skill in football is staying available 👏 Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Luka Modrić and Guillermo Ochoa are all set to be involved at another World Cup, 20 years after Germany 2006 🇩🇪🏆 Honestly, that is frightening longevity. Ochoa’s story is slightly different, but still brilliant: 2006 squad member, 2026 still in the conversation. I know how hard one season can be on the body and mind, so to keep turning up at this level for two decades is incredible!! It goes to show - looking after yourself is not the boring bit, it’s the bit that keeps you in the game 💪 (📸: sportbible)

As a kid, this would have meant the world to me 🧡 During PSG’s warm-up, a young fan was hit by a stray ball and ended up in tears. After finishing his warm-up, Achraf Hakimi went over, checked on him, and gave him his shirt. Safe to say his mood improved pretty quickly after that 😄 I loved this because it was such a simple, human gesture. It's easy to see moments like this as no big deal when you're the one on the pitch. But for a young fan in the stands, a small act of kindness can become the story they tell for years. A proper credit to the game 👏 James Milner has officially called time on an incredible 24-year career, retiring as the Premier League’s all-time appearance holder.... 658 Premier League games (🤯) 3 Premier League titles. 2 FA Cups. 2 Community Shields. 2 League Cups. 1 Champions League. And somehow, the numbers still don’t fully explain his impact 🚀 I’ve spoken before about his longevity and professionalism, but what deserves just as much respect is the example he has set across the game. You don’t last that long at the top unless people know exactly what they’ll get from you: → Reliability when the team needs you. → Adaptability when the role changes. → The discipline to do the basics well for longer than most people are willing to. That kind of consistency is VERY rare. Retirement is a strange feeling. Football gives you structure and purpose for so long, then suddenly it’s on you to shape what comes next. How you leave says everything 👏 Arne Slot has written an emotional open letter as he says goodbye to Liverpool ❤️ He reflected on winning the Premier League in his first season, carrying the weight of a club with 134 years of history, and leading the team through the incredibly difficult period after losing Diogo Jota. But one line really stood out: “The connection we share goes beyond football.” And honestly, I think a few people needed reminding of that 👀 Slot won the league, secured Champions League football, gave EVERYTHING to the role, and still somehow ended up being treated by some like he had failed…. Fans should have standards. Big clubs need pressure. That is elite sport!! But leadership is rarely judged with patience anymore. People want instant results, even when someone is still building. That’s why the letter landed... He had every reason to feel hard done by. Instead, he chose gratitude to the players, the staff, the supporters and the wider Liverpool family. Last night’s game honestly had me on the edge of my seat, but seeing this clip afterwards was football at its most human 🥺 Gabriel Magalhães was in bits after his penalty miss cost Arsenal the Champions League, but Marquinhos went straight over to comfort him. That reaction said so much… Marquinhos knows that pain himself from missing in Brazil’s shootout defeat in Qatar - he's all too familiar with how heavy that walk back feels 😔 In that moment, was one Brazil teammate recognising the heartbreak another was carrying. A true full-circle moment 🏁 2018: Stood in front of his heroes. 2026: Sharing a podium with them. Kimi Antonelli’s first Formula 1 podium in Canada was special for so many reasons, but this is the part I love most… In F1, the margins are brutal. Talent gets you noticed, but composure, patience and execution are what keep you there. To be 18 years old, standing on the podium alongside Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, says a lot about the mentality behind the helmet. Every young athlete knows that feeling of looking up at the people at the top and wondering what it would take to get anywhere near them 🤩 Then one day, if the work is real, the gap starts to close. What an emotional last day of the Prem 🥺 Manchester City and Aston Villa players paused mid-match to give Bernardo Silva a guard of honour as he came off in his final game at the Etihad. And what an incredible nine years it’s been - six Premier League titles, Champions League nights, derby battles, title races, and somehow still looking like he had another 90 minutes in him 😅 It’s so special seeing that respect from both sides 👏 Bernardo has been one of those players every team would want - technically brilliant, selfless, relentless and trusted when it matters most. Imagine being told the dream is over, then ending up in Europe 👏 Luke O’Nien’s story is brilliant. Twelve years ago, he was released by Watford and playing non-league football, just trying to stay in the game. His dad emailed every EFL club looking for someone to give him a chance 😊 Eventually, one door opened, and Luke made sure it counted!! Now, at 31, he has just helped Sunderland qualify for the Europa League 🤩🔴 I love stories like this because every footballer knows that feeling when the game suddenly makes you question everything… A release, a manager who doesn’t like you, fans who write you off before you’ve even settled. It can get VERY loud ❌ But Luke’s story goes to show that doubt only wins if you stop moving. The people who go places are usually the ones who keep turning up when nobody is clapping yet.
