I liked Disclosure Day but I think the reason is because Shyamalan deals in character while Spielberg deals in tropes. In the moment, i did care about Josh O’Conner and Eve Hewson’s relationship but looking back, could you name anything about the actual reason they’re in love?
@buggirl I remember leaving the theater and catching a bit of the end sequence thinking “whoa that looks awesome, should I check this out?” And then everyone who saw it told me “that is the only kinda cool part of the movie and it’s not even that great.”
I used to do standup with some friends back in the day and one night a guy in the crowd said “you’re really funny! You kinda remind me of this one guy. You ever heard of Tony Hinchcliffe?” And I have never been more insulted in my life.

One thing The Furious has that made me love it is goons who realize the guy they’re fighting is a badass. There’s multiple times when a guy will rush in to fight, then see just how many dudes the mc has beaten up and just goes “fuck that, I ain’t fighting him.”

My favorite part of reality tv is when someone goes “I never said that” and then they play a compilation of every time the did in fact say that.
