A cursor seems like one of the simplest parts of a screen recorder.
In reality, making it feel smooth, flexible, and visually consistent across recording, editing, and export is far more challenging than it looks.
Most browser-based screen recorders can rely on existing rendering engines, so exporting isn't a major concern. But when you're building your own hardware-accelerated export engine to handle long-form 4K videos efficiently, it's a completely different story.
Over the past few weeks, we've been refining Screenify's rendering pipeline to ensure cursor behavior stays 100% consistent from the editor to the final exported video.
At the same time, we're laying the foundation for more cursor styles and customization options—one of the most requested features from our users.
Every optimization, every edge case, and every pixel matters.
And we're always listening to user feedback.

This feature looked simple from the outside:
"Just let users select multiple segments."
Reality:
>Timeline interactions
>Drag behavior
>Undo history
>Custom track types
>Selection state
>Keyboard modifiers
The final implementation touched multiple systems but still shipped as a single coherent UX.
We rebuilt our homepage around what Screenify actually does: turn raw screen recordings into cinematic demos.
Drag to compare before → after across product demos, iOS mockups, and 3D MacBook frames.
Live now.

We’ve continued improving the Timeline experience for power users.
Separating each layer into its own row makes editing, organizing, and managing complex projects far more flexible and efficient.
We hope these improvements give you the powerful workflow you've been asking for.
Thank you for all the feedback and suggestions — they’ve played a big role in shaping Screenify.
You might not know Screenify can do this.
If you read from a script while you record, you don't need a second monitor or a pile of sticky notes — Screenify has a teleprompter built right in. It's called Speaker Notes.
Type or import your script, and it floats on top of your screen as you record — completely invisible to the capture. Read straight down the lens, sound natural, and keep your viewers none the wiser.
Scroll hands-free with a keyboard shortcut, even while you're working in another app, so you never lose your place.
It's been there waiting for you — and we just made it even smoother.
Most screen recorders make you fight your own timeline.
Overlapping annotations? They pile onto one row and hide behind each other — invisible and impossible to select.
Working across many tracks? Everything stays the same size, so you scroll endlessly to find anything.
Screenify's Smart Timeline is built differently:
>> Multi-row lanes — overlapping annotations, callouts, and masks fan out into their own lanes. Every one stays visible and easy to grab.
>> Adaptive rows — inactive tracks shrink to slim bars; the track you're editing stays full-size. See everything at once.
>> Hover to peek, pin to keep open — reshape the layout without losing your place.
For creators who layer a lot and edit fast. ✨
We're building Screenify in the open and shipping improvements every week — a cinematic screen recorder for Mac.
We'd genuinely love your feedback to make it better 🙏

Most screen recorders give you one timeline track.
Screenify gives you 13+ — video, zoom, camera, captions, callouts, keystrokes, 3D, masks, music & more.
Every layer with its own effects. 🎬
Next release ships a Smart timeline: the row you're editing stays tall, the rest quietly fold away.
More layers, less scrolling. All the power, none of the clutter.
