@lukecagg @TheSwitchForce The Wii had 2 3D Mario games, it's not really a rule set in stone. And back in the day because their portable and home console releases were separate we got more games overall, we had both 3D Land and 3D World in one generation. Not to mention generations are much longer now.

@SuperButterBuns Back in the early 2010s things felt far more dire, you had to own like 4 different systems in order to play the series. The collection being widely available has only made the series more popular.

@IMrChavez5 @JaggedKeiji @drfrink5 The final mix versions came out on PS2 first, they were exclusive to Japan and weren't released in the west until the PS3 collections. But they are definitely PS2 games.
