Ron Klain says here that Platner got the Totenkopf to commemorate fallen comrades in Afghanistan. I do not believe this can be temporally correct. Platner got the tattoo in 2007. He was in Iraq then Horn of Africa/Mediterranean at that time. Afghanistan didn't come till 2010.

Your point is a bad one considering this specific race. I’m a progressive and voted for Becerra. The billionaire who spent a fortune using money he made from private prisons and fossil fuel investments was never an acceptable alternative. Not to mention that nasty campaign he ran.
