The idea of a grappling hook is great for a game like Screamer, Burnout, etc. It can be a lot of fun. But in a game with such realistic graphics, licensed cars, even a recreation of Monaco, and so on, it just doesn't work for me as a petrolhead, sorry. It's not the mechanic itself, it's the lack of consistency with the rest of the game in my opinion.

@LtDraza No es común, cuando se hace tampoco me encaja, y repito, como petrolhead, no es un producto para los obsesionados con el motorsport. Claro que se pueden poner ejemplos extremos y cogidos con pinzas pero no hace la regla. A mi, particularmente, es algo que no me gusta.

@Tukunime_San Focusing on one thing or another is better than trying to be everything at any cost. It's not my cup of tea. I'm very conservative with "serious" racing games and very open with more chaotic ones. But like this, I just can't get on board.

@Mundo_NFS Es que es eso, es una mecánica chula y seria bien recibida en un juego 100% arcade. Pero no me encaja aquí, no la mecánica en sí. En otro tipo de juego te la compro pero ya.

Suelo decir que una buena banda sonora puede hacer parecer bueno a un juego que no lo es tanto, así que es algo a lo que le doy mucha importancia. Sin embargo he estado recordando los tiempos de jugar en mi 386DX juegos de DOS durante años, yo no tenía Soundblaster, asique no tenía sonido. Aún así disfruté muchísimo esa época. También me siento agradecido por los desarrolladores que se esforzaron en hacer musica para PC Speaker, aunque era algo muy poco frecuente. Monofónico, y a base de pitidos! Pero tengo grandes recuerdos de melodías muy chulas como las de Lotus III.

初代『METAL SLUG』ミッション２のボス『ヘアバスターリバーツ』は、『紅の豚』に登場する、美少女をさらうことで知られる空賊の大手『マンマユート団』が駆る飛行艇『ダボハゼ』のオマージュなんです。主人公の『ポルコ・ロッソ』の愛機『サボイアS.21』も素晴らしいデザインなんですが、継ぎ接ぎだらけで生活感のある鈍重な飛行艇『ダボハゼ』に一目惚れしました。宮崎駿先生が描く、ステキなラフスケッチで見るメカデザインは、何時間でも眺めていられます。実は『METAL SLUG』の企画の起点は、娘が偶々見ていた宮崎アニメ『名探偵ホームズ』だったんです。大勢の犬の警官たちが、モリアーティの乗り物に次々と飛びつき、力ずくで取り押さえようとする描写を見て、あの手やこの手で戦車に挑んでくる兵士たちが頭に浮かんだんです。主人公ではなく、敵側の兵士が演じる、憎みきれないバイプレイヤーの群像劇を作りたかったという、ちょっと変わった着想が『METAL SLUG』の始まりでした。前々から不思議に思っていたんですが、ラスボスっぽいモーデンが、なぜ２面のボスとして、早々と登場したんだろうと。６面では案の定、何食わぬ顔でシレッとラスボスとして再登場しています。『ヘアバスターリバーツ』の墜落事故で、身体のあちこちを高性能なバイオニックに置き換えられ、『600万ドルの男』よろしくサイボーグとして復活したんだよという見た目に変わってるとかだったら、納得したかもしれないんですが、何事もなかったように現れるもんですから、なんだかずっとモヤモヤしているんです。 30年前のお話ですから、細かいことは覚えてないんですが、その記憶を辿ると2面と6面を担当していたスタッフは作業の進み具合がかなり遅く、予定は未定のまま進んでいたと思います。もしかすると、本来モーデンは２ボスとして作られたキャラで、ラスボスには別のキャラを用意する予定だったのかもしれません。それが間に合わず、結果的にモーデンが２ボスとラスボスの一人二役を演じることになった…。そう考えると、『ヘアバスターリバーツ』撃墜後、『フライング・タラ』に救助されるモーデンという変な演出も、辻褄合わせだったのではないかと合点がいきますね。仕事の遅いスタッフがツギハギしながら何とか形にした姿を想像してしまうんですが、実際のところは結局よく分からず、モヤモヤと迷宮入りです。 #MetalSlug #メタスラ #開発裏話
