🚨 BREAKING: FEDERAL LAWSUIT FILED Remnant Law sued Houston ISD in federal court for calling the cops and removing a citizen who quoted HISD's own library book at a public meeting. HISD wants kids to read it. HISD doesn't want adults to hear it. That's not decorum. That's viewpoint discrimination. Mrs. Bonnie Wallace stepped to the podium at an HISD Board meeting to speak on a posted agenda item about library content. Standing with her was Dr. Rick Scarborough, president of Recover America and a 40+ year leader in the Houston Christian community. She warned the room her remarks would include explicit language and suggested any children leave. Then she read — word for word — from a book HISD bought with taxpayer dollars and placed in 3 school libraries. The presiding officer cut her off. After she sat down, three officers escorted her out of the building and off district property. Dr. Scarborough then took the podium and told the Board that in over 50 years of ministry, he had never seen a Biblical pastor support giving children access to books so explicit they are banned in Texas prisons. The book stays. The citizen gets removed. School boards should not get to keep the message on the shelf and remove the messenger from the room. 🚨Houston ISD Removes Woman For Reading From Books Available In District School Libraries This is crazy. A woman was escorted out of the Houston school board meeting after she read passages from books that are in the school libraries for our students. The district says these books are fine for kids but they would not let her finish reading them out loud in front of adults. I am sharing the video here so you can see it for yourself. I'll go one farther than Dan. The ALA smears those who are opposed to pornography in school libraries as "book banners" and "censors." Well, this is not just ludicrous, it confuses the discourse about true book-banning and true censorship, so much so that we can counter-accuse the ALA: THEY play fast and loose with concepts of book banning and censorship, crying wolf. For shame, ALA, for shame.

It appears the effect of World Library Association on American Library Association in helping libraries drop out of ALA has become part of the election concerns for ALA President! 1/2

Cyfair just asked me to sign a permission slip for my 12 year old to read a book about same sex relationships and trans pronouns. They also asked me to sign one for him of the same content when he was in elementary school and asked permission to allow him into the young adults section of the school library when he was 10. I too, hate public education. I’ll welcome anyone to visit my district that will keep that away from our young children who we send to school to learn academics. We are not the same. 💅🏼
