These conditions are dependent on VC capital which is primarily driven by capital market liquidity, risk premium and competing uses of capital (i.e. new indsutry with better returns receives allocations taking $$ away from AI). The risk that owners need to underwrite and have a firm understanding of is job loss across venture backed vertical AI companies.

Seems like the crux of the problem here is not understanding the product/competition and underlying demand drivers of the customer. Essentially, failing to understand the perspective of a renter looking for an apartment and is touring neighboring properties and comparing competing units. ie. apartment a in a good location is charging $1500 for an avg unit while apartment b in an OK location is charging 1250 for a good unit...is that $250 worth it. a lot of the time yes.

Yes i am aware of the price action today and thats not investing. Thats trading or speculating. Nothing wrong with it just not investing. Price and value are different. Just because it went up doesn’t mean it’s a good investment. You’re typically not being compensated for the risk you’re taking. Read about Joel Greenblatt or Bruce Greenwald or Druckenmiller or Bill Miller

@robbiehendricks Early on did you run into individual potential investors who weren’t sold on the return profile. What would you say to people who thought locking up $100k for 5 years isn’t worth the 8k per year even with the potential $100k profit on the exit.
